We are now at the one-year mark of our loved one's passing, and despite the fact that the service was paid in full and all arrangements were ordered at that time, the headstone marker has still not been placed. The constant runaround from Palm has been horrific. No one has taken responsibility, nor has anyone offered the family--even the widow--so much as an apology for the repeated failures and the emotional toll of having to continually follow up. Because of this, the widow has decided she will not entrust Palm with her own future arrangements and is pre-arranging her services elsewhere. This experience has been profoundly disappointing from an establishment that claims to "handle it all for you." Once the check for thousands of dollars cleared, it seems the care and commitment stopped. Palm has truly failed our family. read more

Just Visiting [Las Vegas NV] We don't have a loved one buried here but we wanted to visit a celebrity and pay our respects. We tried to look for Pat Morita's resting place (more known to me as Mr Miyagi from the movie "The Karate Kid"). We proceeded to the Cemetery Office to inquire. The staff was very nice and helpful. One worker opened the door for us and when they saw our Maui HI shirts we talked about the devastation that happened in Lahaina. Speaking to my hubby he shared some memories from his vacation in Maui. In the meantime, I asked the employee behind the counter about Pat Morita (Pat was from Sacramento County). I was informed that the family has moved his remains and is no longer at this cemetery. I was given a list of some famous notables who were laid to rest here at Palm Eastern. I didn't recognize many of the names but we did find Tony Curtis' plot and also Robin Leach (host from "Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous"). Horrible place they used an emotional time mother inlaw passed away to sell a plot next to my mother in law to me and wife (wife distraught) was told I could sell my plot back if I didn't wish to be buried only for them to now years later be told it would cost more money if I sold mine back and only had wife buried. I was going through some things and it's been a year since my mother passed away, and I went to her graveside and her flowers had been stolen which I was later advised that it could be a variety of reason for somebody to have stolen them. I was very upset and I spoke to a representative at the mortuary, her name is Tiana Clark, and to say that she was the most helpful, most empathetic and thoughtful person to walk me through this situation is to say the least. I give Tiana 20+ stars, she literally the next day went back to my mother's grave cleaned it up very nice for me. Sent me a picture of it told me she would keep a lookout to see if she saw the flowers that I had put on my mom's grave on any other grave site told me if I ever needed her for anything just to please give her a call and let her know. I placed new flowers on my mother's grave, Tiana sent me a picture that she cleaned up my mom's grave and that I could give her a call whenever I needed her. She was there for me when I needed her the most she went beyond and above it was just the best thing for me because I'm still grieving my mother, this just let me know that there's people out there that they don't have to be told what to do. They just do it and she's one of those people I am beyond grateful. I also spoke to her manager Mark and he was also very helpful, nice and empathetic so I feel very happy with the treatment I received. read more

Im not sure which location is in charge of creation. It is very disconcerting and painful to the family that it takes 2+ weeks to cremate a loved one. This is so hurtful to the family knowing that your loved on is in refrigeration for such a long period of time. After the paperwork is done 2-3 days tops, get with it. If you don't have the capacity don't offer the service. Sad! Now it's been over two weeks, maybe if we would have had a large lavish funeral we would have had our loved one back in no time at all. read more

If you are in the unfortunate circumstance where you are reading this review, just know that you can and should: - Take your time and do your research - Know you do not have to buy everything from a cemetery or in a "package" (know your rights) And if you are preplanning and thinking about buying a plot here: - Review the fine print - I am not able to select a temporary headstone for my mother until my father uses his plot because Palm Eastern said they picked an area of the grounds where we are 'mandated' to purchase even temporary headstone for $2500 and up; - Understand that if you are buying plots as a couple or a family in one payment plan, if one person passes before you pay in full they will request full payment for one of the plots and it will be annoying red tape you will have to deal with even as you're grieving and trying to figure out how much the service itself actually cost. At the end they had to separate my mom and dad into different contracts, and they tried to charge us a PROCESSING fee to do this! I have mixed feelings about my experience here as someone who took care of my mother's arrangements when she unexpectedly passed. The staff was always professional and warm but there was also a very expected but still uncomfortable business vibe about all the conversations. It felt very much like going to a car dealership. I know death is a business but the amount of nickel and dime-ing just turned me off. They tried to sell me on buying a larger plot when my mother passed, and on a grounds tour talked a good game about how much maintenance they do, but it took a full month (and me reporting it) for my mother to get a vase installed (that I paid extra for) and when I visit it's very common to see dead flowers at other headstones and other signs on lack of upkeep. They also said they would re-sod my mother's plot but up until last week, the ground was not resodded and there is now a large bare patch near her resting place. And as I was chasing down the vase issue they continued to try to upsell me on a larger plot with no awareness of how I was feeling about my experience already. The icing on the cake was when DURING MY MOTHER'S SERVICE, as I'm sitting there watching the casket be lowered into the ground, I get an automated text from Palm Eastern thanking me for my business and how I can call a number to inquire about purchasing more plots/prearrangements in the future. AS MY MOTHER'S SERVICE IS HAPPENING. I relayed this to the service director who was there and nothing ever happened from it. No apology, no follow-up. We also ordered fingerprint necklace as part of the burial package with that was delayed an additional month and a half, and no offer by Palm Eastern to ship those necklaces to me when they were finally available even though I was out of state. I also had to be the one to track this issue and ask for an update. Little things like PROACTIVE customer service recovery and PROACTIVE information go a long way, and when they're not present the absence is sorely felt. The customer should not always have to ask and advocate for themself, especially in an industry like this, but sadly that seems to be the case here. Remember, if you need this type of service, you have the right to take your time and do full research. Don't go with everything a business tells you, do what is right for your loved one and what won't make you go broke at the end of the day. read more

The mausoleum used to be so comforting when you walked in. All the crypts had fake flowers and personal momentos in them. We stopped in over the weekend to place Christmas cards on my parents crypt only to find out they removed every single thing from every vase in there. Never has this been done in the 22 years we've been visiting. Everything gone. Now it's cold and ugly inside. read more

My recent interaction with Tom Cropp, left me with a bit of disgust. As he was using his computer mouse in front of us all, we all noticed his fingernails were weirdly long, DIRTY, and unkempt. (A shower would've rectified this) How is this supposed to be professional behavior in front of those whom are in mourning? Show some respect, Tom Cropp. Also, there was no follow-through with specific requests for the dress of our decedent. His response was mainly saying "I wrote it down, they didn't follow it" (Another excuse- I did MY job, I'm out) Where is the follow through and accountability? Purchased my mom's service and plot from them a while back and about a week ago I received a letter letting me know I can call to make an appointment to pick up the certificate of interment rights or the Cemetery space I called at 10:38am the sales lady told us she wasn't at the office to call back after 1pm to make sure the certificate was at her desk?I called back at 1:19 the receptionist tells me the salesperson isn't available but she'll call me back soon, 5 hours later no phone calls I called back still no salesperson when asked for a supervisor they tell me no one is available! It's never easy dealing with death for loved ones. My father was laid to rest here and unfortunately, I had to recently help plan and set up arrangements for my sister as well. It's never easy and emotions are high. Palm Eastern Mortuary tries to make it easier for you, but it's never easy. It can't when you lose someone. Especially during the pandemic, they have all these precautions and it can be hard to get a hold of them because you just want to talk to them right now because like I said, it's never easy. The things they can improve on is to give a checklist and timelines for when things are due because I was always constantly calling or I would surprisingly get a call or email to have something sent or done by a certain time which was stressful. The burial ceremony was as good as it can be. They made sure to fix any issues that came up. I got video services for the burial ceremony and I think that could of been improved a little by capturing the people that came to the funeral, but that was outsourced to a different company. read more

I went to visit a dear friend's grave at Palm Mortuary and Cemetery Eastern for Mother's Day. I was overwhelmed by how awful her supposed resting place has been maintained. I thought I was somewhat upset until I saw this open desecrated cremation grave. I've been traumatized by seeing this and wondering how and the hell did this happen but the bigger question is why haven't they fixed it? This looks like it's been like that for a long time. I would be so over the moon if this were my family members. I really hope the management respond to my "complaint '. What can you possibly say? I've always been treated with respect in all of my previous interactions with Palm Mortuary. My mother and father were both laid to rest there. Last week I spoke to Lori Foote, who is the worst, most condescending person I have encountered there. She was rude and extremely unhelpful, and treated me like I was an outsider of my family. I was promised a call back and it's been five days. She is a poor reflection on this establishment... no compassion at all. If you need to entrust this location with care for your loved ones, I would run from Lori and ask for someone else. read more

My wife passed away recently and despite a long battle with cancer, we had not made specific plans. She had only expressed her desire to be cremated and have her ashes buried in a cemetery in another state. I did not select a Mortuary until after she was gone. I chose Palm Eastern Mortuary because her father was buried there and it was, frankly, the first place that came to mind. I am glad that I did. I received a call from Tom Cropp, a Funeral Director at Palm Eastern the day after my wife's passing and he set up a meeting for a few days later. Tom seemed to sense what I needed. He was sensitive and respectful but not dour. He listened to my desires and allowed me to ramble on about my wife and our time together. He did not try to sell me services that I did not need or try to talk me out of following my wife's wishes. I believe that he genuinely cared about helping me in my time of grief. He helped me to prepare a memorial video and other tributes. In short, his service was excellent. Other Palm staff were also helpful and respectful. read more

I'd like to commend Zulema for exceptional customer service. She ensured flowers were placed at my uncle's graveside in perfect time for a private memorial last Saturday. I'd never met her, there was no financial gain for the cemetery, and yet she was exceedingly helpful in arranging for the flowers to be placed just 30 mins beforehand. I confirmed Saturday morning, and even though she was out of the office, she contacted her groundsman, Mark, who placed the flowers and texted me to confirm. My family and I are appalled by our experience with Palm Eastern. My grandmother was placed there in 2001 and we had a positive experience. We recently went to them for services and placement for my Aunt. Naomi and Angel were polite, professional and empathetic but that could not overcome the disgusting behavior of the sales rep, Zulema. Not only was the focus on upselling and selling to the rest of the family and not on my newly deceased Aunt but it wasn't even hidden by an ounce of compassion. Not only were our questions not answered, all options relayed to us for the best decision but when we looked up Nevada law (as yeah, we had to get info on our own) and posed questions- we were met with a disgusting comment by a rep trying to keep her sale. While her manager, who wasn't available by phone, tried to gloss over her disgusting comment when my family returned to their office, it was a futile attempt as she said what she said and should 100% have known better. Her lack of etiquette, professionalism and training should not be an issue clients have to endure during such a tragic time! Shame on her, and Palms, as she represents the business! In their business they will always profit so the disgusting behavior, lack of professionalism and nonexistent empathy were unnecessary. Not only did we decide not to place my Aunt there, we are removing our family from there, and the rest of the family will not be purchasing our future services or placement from them. As our experience was completely disgusting and shameful, we are sharing as to help future families not experience what we have. To add insult to injury, the website for my Aunt has her name wrong. My grandpa passed away and we needed a spot for him. Even though my grandma is still alive and well, we figured it's time to find them both a spot so they could be together forever. I sent an inquiry via the website and got a call/email from Karina. We quickly made an appointment to check out spots the upcoming weekend. The day of our appointment, my family and I met Karina and Mary. They were very kind! We went around on a golf cart and they showed us all of the options. After seeing the spots, they spoke pricing with us. We got so much info from them. After consulting with the rest of our family, we made a decision of which spot to pick for my grandparents. Karina and Mary tried their best to get us the best deal possible and we all really appreciated it. I recommend Mary and Karina if you ever need services from here. We had a wonderful conversation about our wishes, and she was eager to get to know us and our family. Instead of a sales pitch, she chatted with us like we were old friends. We ended up with the perfect plan for my husband's upcoming memorial service. Dora is so sweet and compassionate. It was a joy to work with her on what would normally be so hard. The management of this facility are incompetent and insensitive. The manager has a terrible attitude and is so condescending that. If I had not spent the money to have my parents intered at this facility ( $22,000), I damn sure would have taken them somewhere else. The maintenance is terrible and the manager was hateful when I returned a call from them pertaining to the glass in the columbarium. She basically called me a liar. That no one had called me about anything. I still don't know what the deal was with the glass...but, will be paying them a visit soon... read more

PALM MORTUARY AKA PALM EASTERN MORTUARY & CEMETERY - Dignity Memorial What does perpetual mean? My definition is something like: forever, in perpetuity, unending. Not so at Palm. In the late 1970's my family purchased 7 plots with perpetual maintenance. My parents passed during the early 80's. From 1981 when my father passed until March of 2022 we shared a satisfactory relationship with the owners and management of Palm Mortuary. Over the years upkeep was current and if necessary headstones and grounds were attended, improved or replaced. About three years ago my mother's stone was replaced due to what I believe to be mower damage. Management at that time was very cordial, helpful and responsive. Fast forward to March 5, 2022. I met with Jessica Schedeneck, current Family Service Counselor, to discuss the current condition of my father's stone. The stone is defaced with chips and cracks. I was told by Jessica that she would get back to me by March 10, 2022 with regards to replacing the damaged stone. From March 10th through the 24th many calls were placed to Palm but none was responded to until March 24th, 2022 when I received an email from Ms. Schedeneck stating there is new management at Palm and there could be no response to my request until the new management was in place. My cousins and I have called and visited numerous times and have not been given the courtesy of a call back. Yesterday, (6/31/22) I called and after identifying myself was told Ms. Schedeneck would return my call by the end of the day...I'm still waiting. To date I have heard no response despite repeated attempts to reach out to management. My dad's stone is chipped all the way around and the upper left corner is cut off completely. This is evidence of a lack of care and consideration when attending to the perimeter of the stone. We paid for "perpetual care" in good faith. Management doesn't even deign a phone call in response to a request for accommodation to replace a badly damaged stone at the hands of their maintenance crews. read more

After they get your money they care less about your loved ones burial plot they take your personal things I spoke to a groundskeeper and he admitted their not thrown away but taken home by others there and some sold again, the office staff does nothing to correct this problem so Beware!! if you leave anything there for your loved one. Photos in the slideshow were haphazardly thrown together, with many of the landscape photos being turned on their side. The Palm Eastern team made this whole process so easy and they took care of *everything*. The Palm Eastern team allowed my family to grieve while also help us to celebrate her and her life. My sister was taken care of and they were so considerate of our pain and grief. Diane and Sheryl were kind and knew how to walk with us through the entire ordeal. They should get rid of the grass, it looks dead and the hard water makes the headstones difficult to clean and alot of the headstone you can not read. Please consider putting the turf you used in the other sections of the park. Don't devalue our loved ones area because it is a community area versus private estates. read more

It's never the best time to visit family that has passed but we all have to eventually, my problem was the map they gave us to find our loved one was 14 years old and was incorrect. So we tried the "find a grave" on their website and even though it had been 5 years since her death they didn't have her in their database, so it turned into an hour long walk up and down to find her grave . The gardeners were more helpful than the staff they helped us look 5 men who had other things to do stopped and helped me and my family that was 10 people looking .
