I enjoy my appointments here! Mr. B and the students are all really great! Personally, I like the…read morerelaxed, casual atmosphere here and everyone is attentive and friendly! I'm glad I decided to try them out. Now that I'm a retiree, coming here works within my budget. One thing you have to keep in mind is, you don't want to make an appointment when you have other commitments on a schedule. These are students that are just starting out and most of them have not gotten their speed up, yet. If you're going here, plan to spend a good part of your day here for your services. You're helping the students to get an education and become successful in their future occupation.

First indicator not a great school/salon: Student came out and said "So what am I doing to her?" --…read moreno hello, how are you, nice to see you today, I'll be doing your hair, etc. When you hear someone say that, it's an instant "uh-oh, if she doesn't know why I'm here, maybe I shouldn't be here." No one was prepared. They had to call in a teacher to help because my pre-booked appointment was for me and my daughter. The teacher did my daughter (I chose that thinking I'd rather have her hair look good even if I have to sacrifice with a student who obviously didn't know what she was doing). Then the teacher did not show the student the proper way to highlight blonde hair -- he showed her a "shortcut" to highlights -- did not take little pieces of each row of hair, but rather put every other row with ALL hair in the foil and went down each side parted down middle without actually doing foils down the middle part. Crazy that even I know as a patron to salons over the years that that's not the proper way to do it. Our hair turned orange as it was not processed long enough or with the right mix of products (of course) and they literally had to send someone right then to go buy toner because they did not have it in supply. Basically, spent over 4 hours there for two of us to walk out unhappy and paying much more than at other "school salons" we've been to in the past. Save your MONEY, save your TIME, and more importantly save your HAIR! They used such hot styling tools on our thin, fine hair that it was smoking! I finally just said, "it's great, we gotta go"! Will NEVER go back.

But Miss Caputo, the director was extremely nice and she actually fix my hair the next day and my hair looks amazing now. So they stand by their work. If you're not happy with how your hair turns out, they do work with you. I will definitely return and will recommend them to others . I do wanna give a shout out to Debbie the front desk administrator. She is super awesome and nice and she works a lot of hours because she always answer the phone. I do appreciate how pleasant and accommodating she is overall this is a win-win place to get your hair done. It's much less expensive than going to just about any salon in South Florida.

My facialist Yasmeen interviewed me first to find out my wants and needs before we started, then was very professional and gentle, explained every step of the process and constantly checked in on me along the way. Supervisor Sabrina was on the ball with overseeing the procedure from start to finish. At the end of it all, I look better, my skin feels better, and I'm glad I tried something new...

I scheduled an appointment on Wednesday, 08/13, for Friday, 07/15, at 11am for a gel mani/pedi…read more Before continuing, let me be clear: I was fully aware I was booking with a student. I didn't expect perfection, this review has nothing to do with the student and everything to do with the lack of professionalism from the staff. I arrived at 10:45am with existing gel polish and overdue for a fill. My regular manicurist was out of town, so I decided to give the local nail school a try (the same one my manicurist graduated from). The student began removing my polish with a drill. I assumed she'd lightly drill, then wrap my nails in foil, but instead she drilled off the entire gel. Since my nails are naturally strong, I didn't critique her process, especially with her teacher nearby. About every 10 minutes the teacher stopped over, not to guide her, but to tell her to "pick up the pace." By 12pm (an hour in), she had just finished removing the polish. She attempted to trim and shape my nails, but her tools were dull. She asked her teacher for help, and the teacher briefly stepped in to cut my cuticles before walking away again. At 12:30, she began applying polish. I asked for a French manicure, but the base already had visible bubbles. Still, I remained patient - it's a discounted service after all. When she attempted the French tip, she quickly realized she didn't have the right brushes. After multiple failed attempts, she admitted: "I'm sorry, I can't do this. I've only been in school a few weeks and missed a lot of classes due to personal matters." I appreciated her honesty and asked if anyone else could finish. The teacher said no - it was nearly 2pm and she "didn't have time." At that point, I decided to leave. But when I went to check out, I was told I had to pay for the gel mani/pedi. I calmly explained that I'd been there for over 2.5 hours, the service wasn't completed, and I wasn't going to pay. The receptionist called the teacher, who immediately went off on me, condescendingly reminding me "this is a school," as if I hadn't already known. Here's what's most frustrating: the teacher saw the student struggling over and over. She had countless opportunities to step in, explain expectations, or even redirect me to a more advanced student. Instead, she idly stood by, pressured the student to "speed up," and ultimately abandoned us both. When I refused to pay for services that weren't rendered, I was told to "get the f** out and don't come back." Not only did I waste 2.5 hours, but I also had to find another salon to fix the damage. My nails were left thin and cracking at the base, requiring an overlay to strengthen them. This experience was unacceptable, not because of the student, but because of the staff's unprofessionalism. If you're considering going to this school for services, I urge you to think twice. The staff should be retrained in communication, accountability, and how to properly support their students. Worst experience ever!
