We were welcomed with champagne. The staff was very friendly. They addressed our concerns diligently.
The hotel looks renovated, with a clean sterile look. The room we got was on the third floor, it was a small room, had slanted ceilings with beams, on which I regularly hit my head. The room had a sun roof.
Good wi-fi throughout the hotel, free.
The maid didn't change the towels regularly and didn't replace everything that she took out (by the end of the stay we only had 1 hand towel and no towel for the floor), put in an extra folded mattress for storage although they said it was an extra chair for us to sit on that we didn't need or ask for - the room really couldn't fit it and I had to literally crawl over it to get to the other side of the bed (was tough with the extra low ceiling on that side - literally 3 feet between the ceiling and the chair). When I asked them to move it out, they placed it by the door outside partially blocking the door to the room. They turn off the elevator after 10pm because there is no one manning the front desk. There are 5 flights of stairs to the top floor (even though it's only considered the third floor). I really hated the walk up.
Breakfast room was right outside, walls were paper thin. I couldn't sleep when people were eating. Breakfast was only for 2 hours from 8am to 10am. There was no water in our bathroom if they were using a dishwasher in the dining area or were running water, I couldn't even brush my teeth. Because the walls were so thin, I could hear street commotion through the vents.
They provided shampoo in a paper packet, didn't replace it. There is only 1 trash can (and very tiny) in the room, and the room would definitely benefit from another one. The bathroom is tiny with a tiny shower. There was no room to put down a change of clothing. Really minimalistic.
The breakfast was really scant (pastries, cereal, jam but no bread to put it on, a few pieces of fruit and yogurt. No meat, no eggs...)
Bottom line: would not stay again in the same room, but would consider another room on a lower floor away from dining. read more
