This palace was once a Jesuit college. Open to the public, the two story courtyard contains many statues as well as the interior corridors. It is well worth a walk through to view both the art, grand staircases and archeticture. Also located in one corridor was a bulletin board with local, upcoming events.
This building houses the 'Osservatorio Astronomico', 'Biblioteca Nazionale Braidense', 'Pinacoteca di Brera' and along one side is the 'Orto Botanico di Brera' to name just a few. It is a beautiful building that you may just walk past, not knowing it's open to public view. We were very excited to find the Pinacoteca (picture gallery, aka museum) and purchased some books from their gift shop. Also worth a look is the free Botanical Garden - just walk through the building, and follow the back walkway to the right, in to the gardens. read more
