Palazzo Bartolini-Salimbeni is the first palace in Florence to be built according to the High Renaissance style, marking the transition from the Renaissance to Mannerism. Although now it is considered a masterpiece, at the time it was built it was heavily criticized. We were lucky to see that there was a new museum opened in the building showcasing a priceless modern and contemporary art collection. It is the collection of Roberto Casamonti, who is a private collector. He truly was an eclectic collector of art and culture in the twentieth century. We enjoyed our visit to this free exhibition. read more
