There is plenty of parking. Some decking style docks along river to stroll, a gazebo, a few shelters & picnic tables (no grills) there is a very nice bathroom facility near the oversized Children's fabulous playground with swings. Plenty of signage depicting the history with photos along with name plaques for the trees. Some beautiful wildflowers and wildlife including plenty of ducks with babies. Definitely a great little place to enjoy some fresh air. There is also a shaved ice truck and you can rent paddle bikes for the river. Several nice memorials including one of President JFK

We booked a shelter here for our family meeting point. We had never been here before and none of us…read morelive in this area. Since we had little kids we wanted near a playground. This park did not disappoint. As a matter of fact, there is a swimming pool here as well. I will say that every shelter was rented and it was a Saturday so I'd recommend booking ahead. Well kept, clean, with restrooms nearby. We were very satisfied!

I've been here a lot over the years to ride the rail trail from here to Morgantown and back and it's beautiful. I've did the tours and they are great and very insightful. It has beautiful grounds in general plus a nice gift shop. I really enjoy riding the rail trail towards Fairmont too even though it's short it's paved and the tunnel is nice and cool on a warm day. It's a great place with tons of history. Check it out and make sure to bring your bike to enjoy the rail trail and a cooler to have a nice picnic. Enjoy :D

On the way back from Morgantown yesterday Tony and I decided to stop at pricket's fort State Park…read morein Fairmont we had never been here before this was going to be a nice little afternoon adventure. The weather was lovely it was a very mild low 80° sun was Shining, flowers blooming , bees a buzzing....feels like summer finally! You found the park rather easily even though they don't have a lot of signage once you get off the interstate. The park is free to enjoy and walk around there's a couple of hiking trails and a very old cemetery. There is a really nice bathroom area near the museum and the museum is free to enjoy. There is also a gift shop. Now if you want to tour the actual fort which is a reconstructive for it which also includes the family job pricket brick house or Mansion whatever you want to call it there's a fee of $8. And seniors are six I believe. They also offer bike rental which I found to be very nice even though we were not riding bikes this day. The fort is a self-guided tour and they have people in costume to talk to show you around and answer any questions you may have. But they do not currently have a blacksmith. The job house is scheduled with a scheduled tour three times a day 11, 1 and 2:30. Since we missed the tour for the house we decided not to purchase the ticket for the fort, because the fee covers both. So our plans are to go back soon and plan our day so that way we can enjoy both the fort and the house. The staff that is working there is very friendly and will answer any questions you may have. The museum has quite a few artifacts in it and a 20 minute film talking about the fort, how it was used, and how it was very important to the frontier home life in that area at the time. I definitely highly recommend you going if you're in the area. I know Tony and I are definitely going back again. There's a lot of great things to see there, a lot of family historical information for the area, and some really neat things in the gift shop. If you're expecting it to be a little zoo with small wire caged animals, you'd be wrong! This zoo is clean. You can pay a very small amount to get a decent amount of food to feed a lot of animals, including giraffes, monkeys, camels, bears, and the usual goats. There is an overlook with a gorgeous mountainous view with a small herd of bison. This small zoo packs a big punch! They even have mandrills!! And a black leopard!! As a photographer, I was glad to see glass areas on some animals to great photos! If you're on the fence about stopping here, get off and go. You won't regret it!!

I have placed this place every day in my past and never knew it was there. The parking lot is FREE and its great to stop here and take a quick little hike. This is a four seasons hiking park which is very nice. The trails are nice and the scenery is lovely. I wish I had found this place sooner, cause I would have definitely spent more time hiking in this lovely park. It is so peaceful and so quiet with different flowers and trees to love. The traffic is crazy sometimes trying to get out of the parking lot, but other than that..definitely worth it. Definitely worth the quick 30 minutes hike.

Due to the steep elevation it is a bit of a tough area, but it is geologically interesting and quite a pleasant green space. Crossing the paved trail at the bottom leads to some fairly modest views of the river, which is mostly obscured by thick greenery (at least in summer).

Motoring in my rented SUV through the gorgeous Laurel Highlands region, I had roughly an hour to drive the seven miles between the two homes right through this park. Right in the heart is a most worthwhile stop, Ohiopyle Falls, a twenty-foot waterfall that spans the wide Youghiogheny River over a couple of dramatic levels. The parking lot was huge and pretty empty, and it was a quick stroll to the broad observation decks that jut out over the river. There was a group of kayakers huddled together as they were preparing to navigate the whitewater torrents. The hamlet of Ohiopyle provides a welcome coffee break. Update: After a tour of the stunning FallingWaters a 1937…read moreFrank Lloyd Wright designed home and a wonderful lunch in Ohiopyle PA we returned to our 139 campsite to enjoy a quiet afternoon we were approached by two heavily armed policemen who indicated we were camping in a "No Dog Zone"!!! We explained that the State Park Ranger had assigned the site upon checkin and mentioned nothing about a "No Dog Zone". They indicated that since we were checking out the next morning we would have to move. The officers were very nice however them being so heavily armed was a bit unnerving!! In Pennsylvania state parks, dogs are generally not allowed in swimming areas, inside buildings, or in designated non-pet overnight areas like cabins and group tenting areas. They are also prohibited in any area specifically designated as closed to pets. Responsible pet ownership is expected, meaning dogs must be leashed, attended, and their waste must be cleaned up!!! After a seven hour multi state slough we finally arrived at Ohiopyle State Park in PA. Site 139 was an easy back in however due to an afternoon thunderstorm there's no power to the campground upon our arrival but thankfully it came back on a short while ago! We've decided to enjoy a second day exploring the river, local sites etc. Really enjoyed our stay. While the entry roads are a bit tight the facilities were clean plus the staff was amazingly friendly. Highly recommended.

Great free park to enjoy right off I-68 exit 1 make left onto Route 119 into Morgantown. Just past GoMart on the right is Fawley Ln. Great park for hiking, letting kids on playground, picnic, walking your dog or just reading a book and relaxing...enjoy!!!August 26th, 2020 Tony and I had a late lunch after a morning of hiking. Tony drank a few cold Budweisers and I had unsweetened tea with lemon. Tony ordered a Philly Cheese steak with fries and I ordered the Open Face Roast Beef with mashed potatoes and gravy. Our food was very good Service was great and friendly Definitely would eat here again and recommend to all.
