We visited the Zambra in the Sacromonte barrio of Granada on March 12, 2024, just a few weeks ago…read moreas part of a 6-week investigative plan and vacation in Spain. We had met dancer owner Enrique Carmona Cortes, aka El Canastero earlier in the day. We had a few friends in common, so he invited us to attend the evening show. The establishment is named after his mother Maria La Canastera, we had a great time meeting his family and enjoying the flamenco dancing. It is great that most of the caves have now installed wood floors for the dancers. Needed for the footwork and most important for the care of the dancer's body. We had a great time, and we have visited a few caves throughout the years and all of them have good flamenco shows. But the history the Zambra carries is special within the history of flamenco dance. Ole to all of them. Michael Miguel Bernal
