Upon entering the lobby, we were greeted by the friendly manager who completed our check-in promptly even providing us with free bottles of water. The room was spotlessly clean, (I have never seen a bathtub sparkle before) and the beds were very comfortable. The hotel was quiet and provided a lovely morning breakfast for the guests. I ABSOLUTELY recommend this hotel and it's owners, it was a beautiful place in the heart of Taber! 5 Stars!!
Nice and clean basic hotel…read more Hot breakfast was better than some. Everyone in our family found foods they enjoyed. Bagels and bacon seemed to be the favourites. Hotel is on the highway and by train tracks but the noise did not bother me at all. One daughter said the train woke her up. Staff was friendly. Coffee was weak. I recommend making coffee in your room and grab fresh creamers from the breakfast room. The price was right. We would stay here again.

This weekend we attended a basketball tournament and stayed at the Heritage Inn where our teams…read morehave been staying since my oldest child played ball. I had booked a room online which gave me a free breakfast at the cafe (this was not a buffet set-up) and I was limited to only five choices from their menu. I am a vegetarian and all the choices included meat. I chose an omelette which arrived half cooked but the hash browns were great so I ate those and ate around the runny egg parts. My daughter, who is also a vegetarian came to the cafe after I left with her team mates. To avoid limited menu choices, I gave her cash so she could pick anything from the menu and left to pack my belongings. She ordered a breakfast sandwich and as all vegetarians/vegans do, she emphasized to her server that she is vegetarian and wanted no meat. The cafe was busy and her table waited 45 mins for their order to arrive but my daugheter's order had bacon in it. She emphasized again to her server that she was vegetarian and wanted a new sandwich. Her server came back with what she thought was the right order and after eating half her sandwich discovered that instead of making a new sandwich they tried to pull the bacon out unsuccessfully. She was obviously sick and disgusted but she works as a food server too and thought she knew how to handle a difficult situation appropriately. My daughter called over the 'acting manager' and informed her that she is a vegetarian and got the wrong order twice AND she ate half of it. This woman put her hand in my daughter's face and said "Whatever, I will go get your server" and stormed off. My daughter was so upset about the lack of empathy but even worse was how the 'manager' humiliated her in front of a busy cafe. She walked away in tears and thankfully one of the other parents came to her defence and told the manager that there was no way she was paying for her meal. To add insult to injury, the 'manager' and the server were still gossiping about it in front of other people who they didn't know were a part of our team. We will never stay here again and this doesn't include the fact that my fridge in the room didn't work, even though they claim they have room service and charge 15% more for it you still have to go pick up your order yourself and even though I counted 5 people sitting in the Housekeeping Room, you will have to get your own towels if they don't provide you with any upon arrival.

Based on the reviews, I chose to give Best Western Plus a try -- and unfortunately, it was a big mistake. As soon as I walked in, there was an unpleasant smell. We were eventually greeted by the front desk and given our room. The first thing I always do when I enter any hotel room is lift the sheets and check the linens. Right away, I could see the bedding had not been changed. The sheets and pillowcases had human hair all over them. I immediately went to the front desk to report it. When the supervisor came, her initial excuse was that it was a pet-friendly room and the hair could have been from a dog. I explained that it was clearly human hair and even showed her the video I took. She acknowledged it and offered to move us to a different room, but at that point, I was completely disgusted. If housekeeping left this room in that condition, I had no confidence the other rooms would be any better. We requested a refund and went to the hotel across the street, which was much cleaner, updated, and had no issues at all. I definitely do not recommend staying here. But if you do, make sure you thoroughly check the linens before settling into the room.

I called mid-afternoon for a room because I knew I would be exhausted driving the final leg to Calgary on a long distance trip. Also, I knew it was stinking hot and I was not looking forward to staying in my sister's place with no AC. If you are looking for a new, top of the line, luxury hotel, just keep driving. If you don't mind staying in an aged hotel where you are greeted by a superbly friendly member of the family-run business, this is your place. The lobby is open 24 hours a day and you have access to a fridge stocked with complimentary juice, milk, and yogurt and there is also tea and coffee. A breakfast is also available with muffins, cereals, toast, and oatmeal. My room was clean and the AC worked like a charm. There is free wifi that works well. I must say my bed was so comfy I slept in! If I am ever in need of a room in the region, the Lazy J has my business!
