I honestly can't single out one type of animal because there are so many great ones although the meercats are ace as are the chipmunks. The staff are really friendly and helpful giving good service and taking time to talk to people about the animals if you want to. The prices are quite reasonable too. Well worth a visit if you've got children.

Parents are allowed to go into the area with their kids which is always good, especially if you've got younger ones, and there's loads there to keep you all amused. Wi-fi internet is available, so take the laptop along and get on with your own stuff while the kids play. The food is really good. When they first opened I got a peek at the kitchen and it was more like something out a 5* hotel than a cafe. Most of the food is proper cooked stuff, and there's a fair choice on the menu at reasonable prices. Most of the staff are really friendly, many have childcare experience. It's run by two couples who both have families so they've taken an proper interest in making the best of the place that they can. It's close to the school so it does get very busy at around 3pm but if you're able to go in the morning then it's lovely - I'd highly recommend taking a trip through Brigg to call in here if you're passing on the M180.

It has a beach style pool - great for little kids as they can splash about in ankle deep water while they get used to it. There's also a baby pool separate to the main pool. The water on the 3 occasions I've been has been fairly warm, and everything has been adequately clean although not spotless. Changing isn't the best if you're going as a family, although they do allow you to use the single large disabled cubicle if you're there with babies (how on earth are you meant to sort out a baby on your own?!). There's a play area just outside which isn't always open and it drove me mad with a 2yr old moaning that he wanted to play in it when he couldn't! They do give a discount if you're a local resident, so it's worth asking. Main downside is that you have to pay for parking, unless they've changed that recently.

The place is bursting with animals - as you would expect, but our favourites must've been the fluffy chicks, which we were all given an opportunity to pick up and cuddle (sweeeet) and the baby goats, who we could quite happily watch for hours as they have this daft playful puppieness about them. The farm is really hands on, you can feed the animals and pet them - my daughter loved it! There is a nice little cafe too, which serves home made cakes and sandwiches, aswell as a little gift shop that sold lots of farm yard themed toys. It's the sort of place I can see myself going back to year upon year.

You can either have a general play session which lasts at least 2 hours (exhausting), they do birthday parties, parent and toddler sessions and they even have an Over 16's night every Tuesday. There is a cafe on site which has 5 stars from Lincoln Environmental Health and they serve a wide variety of reasonably priced food and drinks. Best in Lincoln!

To be fair when you arrive and before you pay they have a sign up telling you about the wasps and how they are managing the problem, however you would have to be a cold hearted parent to take your children to place like this get them to the gates then turn around and go back home because of the possibility of some wasps. However the sign does fail to mention that the park has numerous fruit trees none of which are actually harvested and the fruit is also allowed to rot on the ground. Saying this the park does have some wonderful attractions but it is hard to enjoy many of them whilst being engulfed by wasps, to give you an idea of the extent of the problem they are even in the bins inside the cafe. I asked a member of staff how long they've had the wasp problem to which she replied oh its like this every summer. Honestly give this place a miss theres plenty of better places to go

The animal centre is home to a collection of well known animals and also rare breeds. My favorite are the little tiny monkeys, I also love the racoons as they have proper little hands and stretch through the bars to hold your hand.the centre lets your kids interact with the animals when possible such as giving bottles to the baby lambs It takes a full day to see and do every thing,so when you want to eat,there is either a picnic area next to the childrens play area,or you can go to the barn cafe were they make excellent home made meals and snacks

The soft play area is the normal maze of obstacles, slides, gates and a ball pool. It occupies the end of the room and the rest of the space is taken up with the cafe which is where the parents sit. The layout means that it is next to impossible for kids to escape the soft play area unnoticed which makes it a more relaxed place than some others. The cafe is basic but good and serves the sorts of things that kids will eat (at least it serves the sorts of things that my kids eat.) They also do a decent cappuccino. There is an activity room which I think can be hired for childrens' parties. The staff are friendly and efficient.

One theory is it was created by medieval monks, it sits adjacent to the site of an older 7-ringed celtic maze .The relic is 44ft. Also nearby is the old 'Kell Well', now nicely renovated, and a very curious stone in the village churchyard (said to be the remains of a stone cross, carved into a 'spiral' by years of sword sharpening!).an earthwork known as Countess Close above it. No-one knows who originally cut this 12 metre maze (technically a Labyrinth - as it has a single entrance and path), The idea of the maze comes from the legend of Theseus and the Minotaur. Theseus, son of King Aegeus of Athens used a ball of wool given to him by Ariadne to mark his way through the labyrinth of the Minotaur in Crete, slayed the monster and retraced his steps with the aid of the thread and so to safety. The nearby Alkborough church has a copy of the maze inlaid into the porch floor, and this is used as a template for the periodic re-cutting of the turf. There is also a copy in the east window,The 44ft relic cut into the landscape has many interlocking rings, and the theories surrounding its origins are just as complex. Some have observed how Alkborough's maze is strikingly similar to a floor design in the 13th century French cathedral of Chartres. In 1697, the Lincolnshire diarist and antiquarian, Abraham de la Pryme, noted: They have at (Alkborough) two Roman games, the one called Gillian's (for Julian's) Bore, and the other Troy's Walls. eg The name Julian's Bower may have been inspired by Julius, son of Aeneas of Troy. In legend, the walls of the ancient city of Troy were built in such a confusing way that an enemy who entered would never find a way out. Shepherds too are said to have cut similar mazes. It will remain a mystery. Free to get in and not too difficult to find though a little out of the way unless you are in the area. Fascinating and well worth the visit..and YES I WAS the one running around it whilst a lot of, not particularly interested kids looked on. My dad was proud of me.
