We had a ladies weekend planned and picked the Board & Brush as a fun event to do on Saturday. We…read morehad paid a deposit to the Board & Brush months in advance for a private in studio paint day and the manager was supposed to email a link for everyone in the group to sign up and pick their project. After a couple weeks and checking my email, I still had not received the link. I called and left a voicemail with no luck of reaching a human (as this became routine); however, left a voicemail message requesting the link be sent again along with my information. I received no call back or email from anyone. So day of the painting, we show up and it is locked and no one in the studio. We can see through the door our group was on the calendar and it was posted on the website. Keep in mind we are all standing outside the business, freezing from the cold wind. So we began trying to get in touch with someone (and as routine, no one answers). I called so many times, nothing (even left voicemail). Emailed the business, nothing. Facebook messaged the business and received a call back from Heather, the owner, finally. She was aware of our group's reservation and mentioned we had not signed up individually therefore they thought we were not coming. Until I told her what had happened regarding the link and she was not aware of the lack of follow up on her manager's part. She was very sympathetic and was going to remedy the situation but we were leaving the next day (sad face). We were very disappointed to say the least because that is all we could talk about all weekend. At this point, I just hope I get my deposit back and maybe consider doing it next year, since this is an annual ladies weekend. It sounds like fun but if you decide to do a group painting in the studio, you will have to a lot of follow up because they are not going to do it. The business needs to work on someone answering the business line when someone calls not constantly leave messages. I have never had an experience with a business like this before and would hate for this business to not be successful due to a manager's irresponsibility. Heather thank you for the call back and wish you luck!! We will be in touch next year, hopefully the kinks will be worked out!

First timer and happy with it all! Brandi was great in providing step-by-step instructions and…read moresince we were the only group scheduled, she provided a lot of extra attention. She was super friendly and we would want her to be our guide next time too! Board and Brush is located in the historic Whiskey Row Alley and is surprisingly bigger than it looks. Tables seat several people at a time and are perfect for groups. We were a group of four (celebrating a birthday!) and due to the projects we pre-selected (completed during online booking process), we were seated at two tables. Aprons and all project materials were neatly placed on the tables when we arrived and after signing in, we were up and creating! The entire experience was very engaging and super fun. Projects are selected and paid for during the online reservation process. It's very easy to get caught up in looking through all the various projects available and most cost the same either way the exception of a few that require an additional fee. My patriotic tray was an additional $5 due to the required hardware, but once you see the quality of the wood, it all makes sense. Nothing is made from particle board or cheap lumber. This is a great place for a girls day/night out and for bookings made after 4PM, wine is also allowed! I truly enjoyed creating my project and hope to return in the near future.

Not sure why I paid extra for just a box with very little paint on it comparative to other larger and more elaborate projects for a lower price.
