We hired Trico to paint our cabinets at a previous home and were happy with the results. We contacted Trico, and they quoted a $3,500 minimum, which given the process of painting cabinets, I understand. However, when I explained the situation and asked for an email stating the minimum, they said it would be "unethical to charge that to another contractor" and refused the job. The other contractor told me they understood entirely, so what exactly is unethical? My takeaway is that Trico is there for the big jobs and has zero interest in anything else, which is disappointing as customer that paid for one of those big jobs. EDIT: In response to the owner's reply below, I want to be clear that I'm not trying to misrepresent anything here. I was trying to hire Trico to repair the cabinets. They refused the job only after they learned I'd be reimbursed by another contractor, which I truly just don't understand.
