In comes Melanie, who I happened to find by accident through a Yelp promo email. She had another shoot earlier in the day, but bc we were doing a later beach elopement ceremony and reception, she could do it! Signing the contract and working out all the details online and via email was easy. She sent me some paperwork to give her details and then we had a phone conversation to discuss and get to know one another. On the day of - she texted me, showed up exactly on time, and was a dream to work with. So friendly, so kind, so helpful. She went above and beyond for me and my family and was so easygoing. She posed us wonderfully and rolled with the punches when a few things didn't go as planned (it's a wedding, it's going to happen!). Absolutely professional. The photos we've been given so far as a preview are stunning and I can't wait to see the others. Everyone raved about how kind she was and how much they liked our photographer afterwards, and when we've sent a few photos, they've all been blown away. This experience was just as wonderful, if not more! Our session this year was on this past Sunday, a super cold winter day and we were her last session of the day. We were so excited for the beautiful boho setup and my toddler couldn't wait to see Ms. Anika's horses. When we rolled up, we were greeted by her same warm smile and it felt like it hadn't been a year since we saw her. Anika instantly makes you feel comfortable, which is so refreshing! I enjoy talking to her during the session and in all of our correspondence. She started off taking some photos of my husband and son. My toddler was super distracted by Anika's kitty, which was roaming around. It was so cute, and I don't know how she still managed to get incredibly beautiful photos of him while he was so distracted, but she did. The set for this year was so beautiful, with a boho style egg chair surrounded by sparkling, lit Christmas trees and other Christmas themed decor. She got great ones of all of us sitting in the chair, of myself and my son, and of just him. Once we finished with the set, she allowed my toddler to meet her beautiful horses - and he even got to pet them! 3 days later, he is still talking about the horses on the farm and how much he loved petting them. We then took some photos in a grassy area, with the setting sun behind us providing the most beautiful golden light. All of the photos are just indescribably beautiful. It was even more special that I am pregnant this year (and showing!) so we were able to get some wonderful maternity shots. Thank you, Anika, for giving us these memories two years in a row! I also "won a Facebook giveaway - $2000 credit." Seems like these are common. I was not skeptical…read moreuntil I looked at the reviews. My husband did NOT want to go, but we decided to since I already had given the $100 security deposit. We had to schedule way out because they don't photograph babies younger than 9 months and mine was 5 at the time. The most stressful part to me was the outfit choices lol! They have strict guidelines. We got there and took photos, it went great. I really wish we had taken them on the dark background (idk why they choose the background that matches your clothing). Anyway, when we were done we went to the sales room where they show us all the pictures and sell us a package. Right up front I told her we were not interested in buying anything, as this was a Facebook giveaway I won -- I wasn't seeking it out. She understood. I told her we weren't going to spend any money aside from security deposit. Then of course, she informed us that the $2000 credit was only useable when you spend $6000+ or something like that. So we ended up getting an 8x10 (with the security deposit) and the lady actually threw in another one for free. They were all very nice and we had a good experience overall.

My husband and I, like the majority of everyone else in these reviews, won a "complimentary" pet portrait, I've attached an example of the verbiage to this review. We show up, have a blast taking the pics, then we get sit down to choose them...I thought something was off when they started the presentation with payment plan options....turns out the little "$500" means nothing when these portraits minimum start at 2.2k. We felt backed against the corner, threw it on a credit card, and walked out like did that just happen??? Then fast forward 3 months to pick it up, it comes with NO FRAME! No one told us that we paid for a picture on cardboard for 2.2k. Genuinely mind blowing. Putting people in uncomfortable positions and misleading them is NOT a way to do business.
