We arrived about 30 minutes after the business opened. This was a visit that we pre-planned/research for. Our research led us to learn that the warehouse has no AC. Because of this heated detail, we decided to bring fans and water. Our choices led to our first visit being a bit more enjoyable. The amount of books at the warehouse was insane. We were at the warehouse for two hours to give some context. It was a bit overwhelming, but brought me so much joy. I was able to find series books by author Kimberly Lemming, a date night cookbook, a Lisa Jewell novel + so many more books. The selection was plentiful, although I do wish that the genres were all grouped together in a central location. Also, I think having direction signs for payment lines and directional travel through book aisles would be very helpful.

We were a little disappointed not to find books from some of our favorite authors, but there's still a huge selection across all genres. My biggest critiques are the lack of clear signage for genres, no arrows to help with flow, and a need for someone to direct the checkout line--cashiers were calling people up but many couldn't hear them, leading to unnecessary wait times. That said, I compared prices with retail and Amazon and still saved over $300--spent $175 total. Definitely worth the 6-hour round trip, and we'll be back!

I told her I probably wasn't interested in store credit, just cash, and she said okay. I told them I would be back in a couple of hours while I ran some errands. I lost track of time and didn't make it back before they closed. I returned the following weekend to get my cash and they somehow put all of my books in the shelf and didn't even have a cash offer for me. Why would you just put someone's books in your shelf without even realizing who they belong to? Ridiculous. I am Very disappointed. Not having a cash offer I was forced to take store credit or I would have given them about 30 books for me. I doubt I'll ever use the store credit, so thanks for stealing my books Mr K.

I love the Friends Books on Main store. The store features incredible donations of used books, cds…read moreand DVDs that are in excellent shape and priced right. Most DVDs and cds are $1 each, with some multi-sets priced a bit more. Books are typically $4 each but some are a bit less, some a bit more. You can get a pretty new book for just $4. The store is only open Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays but that's plenty of time to browse for some excellent bargains. The store is staffed by volunteers who are always cheerful and helpful. I highly recommend Friends Books on Main.
