I wanted some business mugshots that I could use for my blog, social networking sites et al (not…read morethe snowman I use here!). I e-mailed a few local photographers and Ian Shipley was the first to respond. We did the photographs in his (temporary) studio on Wetmore Road and I was very pleased with the output, which was e-mailed to me within a couple of hours of the shoot. A good professional job and a very easy and friendly transaction. Highly recommended.

In short, don't waste your money - terrible experience start to finish. Go to Firefly, W W Winter…read moreor Venture - all three are brilliant. 1. Not a studio but a shed like structure at the back of the garden - shabby, not very clean and cold. 2. Photos are dull due to the poor lighting in the studio. 3. No props available to use and photographer lacks imagination. 4. Our child who has autism called 'problem child' by the rude photographer. 5. Images shown on computer screen and photographer plays with them until you are happy but the image agreed is not what you are given. 6. Frames poor quality as metal bit to help photos stand fell off. Frame has also scratched my sideboard. 7. Made to order straight after shoot without any thinking time or private space to discuss as a family. 8. Made to pay in full on the day. No price list available or displayed - prices given off the top of photographer's head. 9. When I emailed my concerns twice, given standard response - "Please pop into the studio for us to look into this and rectify it for you many thanks Chris" 10. When I popped in sent away and told not made an appointment ring first. 11. Rang at least 10 times to arrange appointment and conveniently none available or refusal to answer my call. 12. When rang from a different number answered and put phone down. Replied via text "Really". Very unprofessional. 13. End Product worse than school photograph yet I was charged professional prices (such as Firefly/W W Winter/Venture) of £125 for 10 x 8 photo in a frame. We purchased 7. 14. Their website clearly lists all the equipment they have in and how much it costs daily. Its mainly audio equipment we use and to begin with i didn't know much about how using external sound recording works on DSLR rigs. A member of staff talked me over everything in depth over the phone and recommended a few different options. When he dropped a final price i almost died, it was £100 cheaper than i expected. We hired Sylvia to be the photographer at our wedding in April 2014. We could not have been happier…read morewith the service we received. Sylvia took the time to attend the venue with us prior to the wedding, to work out suitable places for photos to be taken. On the day Sylvia was professional, friendly and helped us to relax whilst having our photos taken. We have now received the pictures taken and are really pleased with the results, they exceed our expectations and cannot wait t share them with our friends and family. We want to share how great Sylvia was and would recommend Colour-art.

Sylvia did our wedding photography. We could no have been more disappointed. She turned up at the…read morehouse where I was getting ready on time but had very little input with taking the contemporary photo's she had promised us. She left twenty mins ahead of me to get to the church and take some photo's so she missed me leaving the house and in the car etc. I can not describe how let down we felt when she then showed up at the church some 45 mins later. She missed me getting out of the car and and the entry to the church along with the first half of the service. All of the photos she took after this were from the back of the church with little variation. After the ceremony Sylvia was given a list of the group photographs I wanted which she failed to even look at. There were again none of the contemporary photos we were promised. She had no ability to direct the group or ask for every ones attention as a result all of the photos have people looking away. Certain family photos i requested were also missed. After everyone else made their way to the reception venue we stayed to take some photos in the beautiful landscaped grounds that surrounded our church. These all have the same poses. Sylvia made no effort to ensure that my dress was sitting properly when taking photos of me from behind. Again she left ahead of us to go to the reception venue so once again no car photos. Once again she turned up late to the venue about 10 mins behind us. The photo's through out the day ware unimaginative and repetitive. Not at all what we asked for nor what we were promised. Hiring Sylvia was the biggest mistake we made for our wedding day.

John put the flowers on the grooms men and even tied my Nan's locket onto my flowers. He laced up my dress before he took pictures of it and showed my bridesmaids how to do it properly. And when we did our speeches, John did the announcing. The photos we received as our preview a week later were incredible and he took nearly 2000 in all. We wish we had him do the video too because we know he has a double package on Facebook. We had some content creators though, but they only made a small social video which is in phone screen shape. We definitely recommend John!
