The balance of creative and academic activities is so thoughtfully done. Each day is thoroughly designed to nurture curiosity, confidence, and a love of learning. Ms. Maria, Ms. Beatrice, and Ms. Angela are truly incredible. Their patience, kindness, and genuine love for the children made such a meaningful difference in our son's growth and confidence. They supported him beautifully in his learning and were especially amazing during potty training; always encouraging, gentle, and positive. Watching him thrive in their care has meant everything to us. Ms. Julia brings a level of professionalism, care, and organization that is truly felt throughout the school. She clearly understands how to thoughtfully run a preschool while still maintaining a warm, family like environment. We are endlessly grateful for the love, care, and strong foundation this school has given our son. West Hollywood Children's Academy is truly a gem, and we would recommend it without hesitation to any family looking for the very best preschool experience.

The entire school has such a warm, positive atmosphere, and it's clear that the staff puts their hearts into what they do. We enrolled with high hopes, but unfortunately our experience was very different from what we expected. During the time my son attended the school, he came home several times with scratches and bite marks that I had never been told about. I usually found them during bath time, and whenever I asked what had happened, no one could give me an explanation. One teacher, in particular, seemed to make my son very anxious. He would cry whenever he saw her. One day he came home with blood on his clothes, and I was told he had fallen. As a mom, that really worried me and made me question the level of supervision. I also noticed changes in my son's behavior while he was attending the school. He became more irritable, his eating habits changed, and he started hitting his older brother, which was completely out of character for him. I can't say what caused those changes, but I noticed them during the time he was there, and they concerned me. Even after we left the school, whenever we drove past it, he would often become upset and say, "Mommy, I don't want to go to that school." Seeing that broke my heart. It took me a long time to help him feel like himself again. Every child and every family's experience may be different. This was simply ours, and as a mother, I felt it was important to share it so other parents can make the decision they believe is best for their own children.

The Staff Ms. Monica and Ms. Nancy have both been teaching at Yachay for over 8 years. That kind of consistency speaks volumes about the school's supportive environment, low turnover, and commitment to quality care and education. 2. Curriculum and SEL The school follows a clear scope and sequence for the year and thoughtfully integrates social-emotional learning into daily routines. For example, my son received a laminated "feelings chart" connected to read-alouds during circle time. He also practices mindfulness and breathing through yoga. On top of that, they offer affordable extracurriculars such as gym and music. 3. Food My son genuinely enjoys the meals and snacks, which is a huge plus. 4. Family Events Families are invited to celebrate birthdays and attend special events like dance performances, which creates a strong sense of community. 5. Progress and Communication The school provides progress reports and report cards during parent-teacher conferences. I appreciate seeing how my son is growing, as well as knowing the areas where he can continue developing. 6. Kindergarten Readiness I feel confident my child will transition smoothly into TK/K. Yachaywasi equips students with the tools they need--fine motor skills, patience, independence, and work habits--to thrive in a larger academic setting. 7. Spanish Immersion The Spanish immersion program is another highlight, giving my son exposure to language and culture Overall, Yachaywasi has been an incredible place for my son to learn and grow, and I'm grateful for the care and expertise the teachers provide every day.

It was taking my kid away from the best daycare in the entire Los Angeles area, Happyland daycare. I'd argue to say it's the best daycare in America, but I don't want to be seen as "over the top". (that's just my personality lol.) Anyhow, all jokes aside, as a first time mother with no family on my or my husband's side in the US at all, they were my village. Not only are they extremely fairly priced, but they took the best care of my baby. She was so happy to go to daycare every single day she always giggled and clapped her hands as we pulled up to Monika's door. The second that door opens, my daughter leaps into her or Olga's arms. You can't buy this feeling of safety and security. I know this and I didn't even have such high expectations going in. I was just a tired mom, desperate for help and a spare pair of hands to help me so I could get my life back. But Monika and Olga exceeded my expectations. I had no idea that they'd make this heavy of a mark in my heart because no nanny, daycare center or service I've had since has come close to their level of care. Their amazing meals (literally the best most organic foods available in the market), the art projects they did, the friends she made, it was so smooth and low drama and honestly not replaceable at all. Nothing comes close to Happyland. I wish I could move back to LA just to be near them, but alas I understand that isn't possible because of my husband's work. So I'll just have to leave this note, as a testament from one mother, to another; if you're reading this, your baby is safe and loved with them. Please consider Happyland over anywhere else, as I know what it's like to need this peace of mind. If you're reading this Monika/olga, thank you from the bottom of my heart. We finally moved and settled in so I finally had the chance to write this, better late than never. Sending all my love, we miss you everyday and Lali still knows your names and asks about you ladies. The scrap book of her photos you made her makes us all smile and cry every single time. Best Bianca

Our daughter started at Piper when she was just 1 year and 10 months old, and over the years, Piper has become so much more than a school, it has become a second home. The teachers have played an instrumental role in helping our daughter grow into the confident, curious, kind, and joyful little person she is today. Every teacher we've encountered has been caring, engaged, nurturing, and genuinely invested in the well-being and development of each child. The curriculum strikes a beautiful balance between learning, creativity, independence, and play, and our daughter has absolutely thrived here. One of the things that has always stood out to us is how excited she was to go to school each and every day. As a parent, there is no greater gift than dropping your child off knowing they feel safe, loved, and happy. Equally special has been the community. Both our daughter and our family have formed friendships and relationships that will last far beyond our years at Piper. The sense of connection among parents, teachers, and staff is something truly unique. I also deeply appreciate the transparency and openness of the school. The parent lounge is such a thoughtful touch, I mean what other school invites parents to stay connected and work on campus whenever they'd like? From the exceptional teachers, to the thoughtful curriculum, to the warm and welcoming community, Piper has exceeded our expectations in every way. We are leaving with full hearts, lifelong friendships, and countless beautiful memories. Thank you, Piper, for helping our daughter bloom. We will always be grateful. Pros: - the academics are excellent, especially when it comes to learning to read. - cannot say enough good things about Ms. Gia! - they enjoyed coming to school and loved their teachers - there is a true commitment to the value of bilingualism Opportunities for growth which I don't think could be learned from a tour or handbook: - traditional binary gender stereotypes are reinforced with explanations or comments like "boys like to play more rough" - there is a missed opportunity to engage with parents as equal partners who can add value. - I wouldn't mind sacrificing the academics a bit for more time spent on social emotional content, such as how to navigate conflict on the playground or being inclusive of all classmates or celebrating growth and transitions Would I choose a different preschool if I had to do it all over again? I don't think so. We would still have chosen this school. It was a solid start to our children's school experiences.

The biggest, loudest red flag is their snack menu: skinny POPCORN and RAISINS, two of the most commonly known choking hazards. The admin confirmed their snack schedule is up to date, and indicated "nothing has ever happened before" when questioned about the popcorn and raisins. Well, I'm glad none of the kids under your supervision have choked as a result, but that doesn't mean it can't happen. Any decent preschool / day care would not endanger their littles. On top of that, the teachers looked tired and the playrooms underwhelming. I observed a couple of children practicing writing, yet they seemed dim and not as engaged or as happy as other kids I've observed at other schools. No, I would not recommend this place. I would stay far away.
