The eggs that they call mexido are delicately scrambled with cream cheese and ohhhh so delicious. I had a cheese cake which was a good finish. They also do pão na chapa with ciabatta bread versus the usual French bread found in São Paulo. This place should be on your list for breakfast for sure!!!!! I returned to SP in April 2018 and sure enough I was back at Ste Pão. I love this place!

A welcoming and open space at Rua Padre João Manuel 968, capacity for around forty diners divided between indoor and outdoor seating including comfy chairs, it is immediately on entry that guests will notice cases filled with Cakes and Pastries, the menu spelling out choices from Santo Pão's kitchen adding to an already tough decision with everything from Soups and Sandwiches to housemade Pasta. Open from 08h00 until 22h00 Monday through Saturday, doors closing an hour earlier Sunday, it was after minutes of indecision that Cold Brew was selected to pair with savories, the former rare in Brazil but in this case excellent while both Brazilian Cheese Bread and crispy Tapioca folded around creamy Eggs and Herbs were also well made at a fair price. Slowly enjoying the Eggs while browsing complimentary WiFi, and never rushed by English-fluent staff despite a crowd, it was after enjoying a small Cookie provided with the Coffee that sweets were ordered, the "Croissant with Hazelnut Cream" in reality a masterpiece of lamination ladled with warm Nutella while Santo Pão's signature Banana Cake lived up to its billing with soft layers divided by housemade Dulce de Leche.

They have a varied menu with lots of healthy options including accommodating gluten free or vegetarian friends. The star of this location is the very clever giant umbrella which covers the entire patio of more than 12 tables. The umbrella can be retracted making for a great outdoor atmosphere in any weather. At night they light up the patio with romantic tiki torches. Fresh fruit juices and creative coffees in the daylight give way to creative cocktails and sangrias as the day goes on. They will usually serve you their awesome eggs Benedict any time of the day even if they're no longer cooking off the breakfast menu. It's one of the better places to enjoy a poached egg in the city. They also have some more locally inspired brunch options. The salads and wrap sandwiches are not quite as gourmet as the prices would lead you to believe, but the atmosphere generally makes up for it. In the past I had some issues with service being slow and forgetful, but they've changed the waitstaff lineup and since then I've had a great time. They often have someone who can speak English if needed. The patio space is dog friendly. And the downstairs of the indoor space has super comfy seating for a chat over coffee or relaxing drink after work.

This indoor-outdoor, upscale casual eatery is the kind of neighborhood spot you could frequent on the regular. The food: Is nouveau Brazilian a thing? Well, bra.do does a number of fine dishes that offer a twist on the more traditional plates. I particularly like the peixe korma (tender bits of white fish in a yellow korma sauce and matched with white rice). The bravas potatoes and the bruschetta is great as a starter and the mushroom risotto is good, but rich! So far, I haven't been disappointed with a meal here. It's not vegetarian but they do have a section on the menu for veggie-friendly dishes. The drinks: Full menu of cocktails, beer and wine. When I order wine, I simply ask for the white or red and whatever their house pour is is really good -- especially the red. My guess would be a Malbec or Cab Sauv. The service: Simply the friendliest and most welcoming restaurant in the neighborhood... nay, in the city. Our favorite waiter is Gaspar, but there's also the sweet sweet lady waitress who always dotes on Hanky Bobby. No matter who takes care of us, one thing is for sure: Hanky Bobby gets 2 bowls -- one filled with water and another filled with treats! Dog friendly: Dogs are graciously welcomed to dine outside in the front patio. And like I mentioned, they get their own meals free of charge :) The restaurant is a friend of Fido and so is the staff, prepare to be warmly met when you show up with your pup. Our favorite restaurant in the neighborhood. They often have live music on weekends too!

The staff is very friendly and they can usually accommodate dietary requests of vegans and gluten free diners without a problem, as their meals are simple and freshly made. It's particularly great for lunch or on Thursday evenings when jazz music is played on the terrace. Enjoy the free filtered water in cute glass bottles, as non bottled water is a rarity in this city.

I initially just thought this was a juice bar which would have been just fine for me, as I love a morning lemon juice (no sugar!), but this place has so much more! It's also got a great selection of salads, some nice egg dishes, some delicious Açai bowls for your daily superfood dose, and even KOMBUCHA! Service is super fast, so it's perfect for a quick lunch. For my entire time in Brazil I visited here every day and brought no less than 20 colleagues here - and if I'm ever back in the neighborhood I know I'll be right back here for a juice, snack, or healthy lunch.

For breakfast enjoy delicious Açai bowls (a must try for all foreign visitors), a little bowl of scrambled eggs with a side of fruit salad or their version of French toast in which an egg is fried to your liking within the hole cutout of a piece of toast and then topped with requeijão, an extra creamy Brazilian creme cheese. Also worth trying is the crazy monkey sandwich made of banana, cinnamon and a special "healthy" cheese (as though cheese could be diet, ha!). Super health nuts will appreciate the mashed bananas with oats and honey. For lunch they have a lot of great sandwiches including a tasty veggie burger. You won't be tempted to get that side of fries, since they don't sell anything fried. They do however sell non greasy empanadas which make a great afternoon snack. My favorite is the carne picante. The juices are not to be missed as part of any meal but especially refreshing at mid day is a chilled coconut cut open on request. Foreigners should note the menu separation of Vitaminas (smoothies), which are quite thick and often include Açai or sorbet, and sucos (juices) which are usually filtered to a quite thin consistency. For dinner the platters are nutritious and filling. I think the baked white fish with salad is the most popular version for the post-gym crowd, but I am also a fan of the sweet potatoes or the veggie burger patties (comes without the bun). Basically this place is a vegetarian, gluten free and gym addict haven. But beware those desserts! I can say from personal experience that tasting that cheesecake should be done at your own personal risk. I think it's on the list of foods that I would request for my last meal. The bolo de banana integral while not as crave-worthy is also pretty good and meets the criteria of desserts that I actually believe are healthy. The only dessert, and actually menu item come to think of it, that I didn't love (after two years of quite devoted patronage) was the recently introduced gluten free cake, unfortunately really dry and flavorless. Beyond selling great value for money healthy food, the service here is super fast, theyre open pretty late, they deliver and they have an English menu (not that I need it anymore but great for visitors). And for extra super duper bonus points Madureira regularly gives away the pão de queijo that gets too hard from sitting in the front case for too long to the local homeless people. How can you not love them!?!?
