I do not take leaving public reviews lightly, but in this case, I feel a deep responsibility to…read morewarn other families who may be trusting Attorney Thomas Davis with something as sacred and legally crucial as a final will and testament. Mr. Davis purportedly drafted my late father's will -- a document that ended up being so ambiguous and poorly constructed that it led to a painful legal dispute and ultimately cost my sister and me everything our father intended to leave us. During the contest of the will, my sister and I sought legal counsel, and at the deposition of Mr. Davis he handed us over his own typed and organized work file, which clearly stated our father's desires for his assets: he specifically stated he wanted his half of assets to go to his daughters. However, for reasons still unclear, the final will gave everything to the wife/stepmother. The work file also listed our stepmothers desire. Somehow our fathers desires did not make it into the will but our stepmothers did. Even more concerning, our stepmother's daughter was a longtime employee of Mr. Davis and worked for him at the time this will was written and she was also a beneficiary. This presents a major ethical concern. To make matters worse, the attorney defending the will (Brian Pack) even stated in court filings that the provision giving the stepmother everything was an "incidental insertion" and should be ignored by the court. Still, Mr. Davis has refused to take any accountability or acknowledge the role his ambiguous language and conflicted relationships played in this heartbreaking outcome. When a lawyer is entrusted with a final will, clarity and neutrality are not optional -- they are essential. This was a failure on both counts. Families: Please be cautious before trusting Mr. Davis with your estate matters. A mistake in a will is not just a paperwork error -- it can destroy a family and dishonor a loved one's final wishes.
