The staff here practice open discrimination. Just keep that in mind if you decide to visit here. This is also disheartening considering that you can't even sneeze at this park w/o a Park Ranger/Cop watching your every move. I live down the street and my husband decided that we should buy a yearly pass in order to be able to visit as frequently as we want. Well, I can tell you that we will NOT be buying a yearly pass again, and I will NOT recommend this place to anyone who asks. A few weekends back, I made the mistake of parking in front of a ramp for water entry. I did not know at the time because there are no signs, just two orange cones that I thought were placed to warn visitors of obstructions. I had a park ranger ask me to move and no problem, I did. What surprised me was that a few weeks later, I noticed a family parking in the same spot I parked. I was parking next to them at the time. I watched a Park Ranger, apparently named: Holly Dyer, drive up to me to make sure that my dog was on a lead (he was). However, she drove right past the couple that was parking right where I was told to move without saying anything. I brought this up at the main gate before we left. The young man with long hair I spoke with, told me that the park staff have the liberty to enforce the rules as they saw fit, and I told him that is called discrimination. That the rules and laws should apply to everyone. As I walked away, he openly mocked me, yelling, "Bye! Have a nice day! It was great talking to you!". I'm not stupid. I know when I'm being mocked. We didn't pay over a hundred dollars to be treated in a callused and unfair manner. So disrespectful! Keep in mind you're probably going to be subject to discrimination, too if you come visit. read more
