I got a whole bag and a cocoa to go. My Chocolate con cacao fermentado was delicious. The staff member made it fresh with the traditional beater in pot. It was silky and decadent, rich chocolate. And it had a lovely grain from coarsely ground cacao nibs. I've never welcomed a texture like that but I now yearn for it.

I spent an hour+ just walking up and down the aisles. Yes, it is pricey, but also they had everything I needed and a lot I wanted. Items I thought I would not find in Mexico at all. Hector, a chef and one of the conceierges who helps and advises customers, was incredibly helpful. His English is perfect. His knowledge of food, beverages, culinary items, wine, and pretty much everything, was encyclopedic. I was there the first time 2 weeks before Christmas. Beautiful displays, many home items also for sale. Very unobtrusive Christmas much playing in the background. The produce was gorgeous, the bakery sublime. Need pork processed in 50 ways? They have that. Maybe an Italian lunch? They have that too, and sushi. The coffee bar serves truly huge cups of richly flavorful coffee, and has a massive selection of fresh beans. Seafood was beautifully presented and freshest possible. The olive oil display was so enormous I could not get it all in 1 panoramic photo. I am sure my friends think I am crazy for sending them so many photos of the inside of a grocery store, but as a friend who is coming to CDMX asked, what is the name of the store and how do I get there. Prices are high in most cases, when compared to other major supermarkets here. What is worst, however, is the attitudes of most of the staff. Very condescending and dismissive. Some are friendly & try to be helpful but mostly not.

I love the fact that we made a full three course meal in under three hours including a delicious dessert. In order to do that, the instructors really had to know what they were doing. Prepping the ingredients and knowing exactly how to cook each one in order to make the sauces and the flavors perfect. I would recommend this experience to anyone who would like to know more about Mexican cooking from a professional. The kitchen is a professional one and has plenty of room for large or small groups. My wife and I sat at the counter and talked with Alexandra and Coca as they prepare the meal. We made tortilla soup with it at least seven different accompaniments. That was followed by Cochanita Pibil which was so flavorful and spicy along with a topping of marinated onions served on a sopé. Finally a delicious Mexican chocolate lava cake that was sweet and had all the flavors of cinnamon and other ingredients you find a typical Mexican chocolate. We even toasted the success of this meal and our time together with a shot of mezcal. I wish them the best of luck and can recommend this to anyone who would like to spend a few hours with some lovely people learning how to cook a delicious Mexican meal.
