The doctor who helped me came with me to the hospital and ensured my safety and well being the entire time. It took a while to get approved by insurance, and the prices aren't good, but that's just what happens when you break your foot in another country. The whole process took about 4 hours, but with the health crisis going on I'm not sure anywhere else would be faster

I called to see about getting seen by a doctor and the receptionist was very polite. She told me if…read moreI had health insurance and that she felt it maybe covered. She did say to double check with insurance first. iShe got my number and then sent me a quote via What's APP. The quote was for a hotel visit and it was after hours but even then $1,051.22 dollars?!?!?! That is highway robbery for Mexico. I lived in Mexico for 5 years and am very aware of prices for a house visit. I had plenty for my children, I would have doctor come to my house for consultation. I was super disappointed with how I was never informed of pricing until I got a What's APP message to accept the fee. I want everyone to know to watch out for these places that take total advantage of tourist who do not know. To top it off, I had gotten a quote from a doctor tne hotel recommended the day before and the fee was $1,500 pesos for him to come to hotel for a consultation. The only issue was he wanted cash which I do not carry but after this quote, I am calling him for his honesty. My advise for when you are sick on a International trip is to use hotel recommendations. I found this place on internet and I learned my lesson. Glad I said no thank you to the message!! I am added it the quote that I received for your reference.

Great care, but know these things before you go…read more We were taken here from resort when our son had a medical emergency, and the care was excellent. The staff took care of us really well, the facility was clean and good, and the doctors spoke English, which meant a lot during a stressful moment. A few things to know before you go: Payment upfront: They require payment before treatment. This felt insensitive in an emergency situation, so be prepared for it. Slow requests: It takes a long time for them to process requests. Get your paperwork before you leave: We needed an itemized receipt for our insurance claim. The ambulance take care of everything well but hospital did not, and they haven't been willing to redo it. And been out pain point. Ask for the itemized bill and all documents before you walk out. Overall, I'd recommend them for the quality of care, as long as you go in prepared.

GREAT: Intake was fast and seamless. The resort had emailed ahead and sent our information, so…read moresitting in the waiting area was maybe 5 minutes. Most of the staff spoke English or used Google Translate to pass information. Wife had a stomach bug, which isn't unusual for American travelers in Mexico. They had a gastroenterologist on duty. Moved us from ER "stalls" to a room upstairs within an hour. My wife took an IV bag, saw the Dr and they sent food up for us. Hospital looked almost new and very clean. Staff were quick and courteous. Release from hospital was fast and they provided an itemized copy of the bill in English for my insurance. They even had a radio cab on standby to take us back to the resort. EHHH: they hit you with the bill upfront. Cash or credit. If you're on vacation in a foreign country you SHOULD have a blank credit card or enough cash to handle things. If you don't, that's on you ! It's your failure to plan. I see a lot of people complaining on here about the prices. Seriously?!? You're in a foreign tourist area where everything is based on soaking tourists for $$ ... what did you expect? We were very pleased with the service my wife received at Hospiten. From the resort, to reception at the hospital, speaking with the Dr and the return trip in the cab. Everything was worry free. I care less if they charged me $3k for an IV bag and a couple prescriptions. My wife got better and I didn't worry myself to death about everything.
