It has always got a good name as the place to go not only to buy but also for advice on any electrically related problems you might have. And I can vouch for this, the staff know what they are talking about and usually can get you sorted. (They were the only place in the whole of the town that could help me with a problem I had.) And quite well priced too. Only draw back is that the shop itself is hidden away up an alleyway, and you have to go out of your way to find it.

And they usually do so within a day. This is something that the larger electrical stores fail to do without charging you extra and making you wait for a week or more. The only drawback with this shop is they are slightly limited to products but can order them in. And it is down an alleyway and hard to find. All in all I would recommend titteringtons for all your electrical items.

Now, I'm not a big fan of this kind of place, my sister used to drag me to Habitat all the time and it fostered nothing but resentment in my soul for scented candles and picture frames. That is not to say that this place is not bad at what it does. It seems to be quite cheap to me but that being said I don't buy this kinda stuff all that often. There were an awful lot of signs up that said the likes of '50% off' or 'Sale' so I think this the kind of place you could go to get a bargain. Also, the staff were dead on enough when I called in here. They were friendly and polite without being too pushy or in your face.

When you ask a few knowledgeable questions they know not to feed you the rubbish sales patter and generally offer a really good deal.

Just a five minute drive from the city centre, Boucher Road has quite a few shops in it, most of which are located in Boucher Crescent Retail Park or Shane Retail Park (see my review on Shane retail park). There are men and women's clothing shops (River Island, Next, Burton, the Jeanery...), a sports shop, HMV, Starbuck's, Boots... the list goes on. There's a hell of a lot of space dedicated to parking here, but it can still be very difficult to get a space on a Saturday or Sunday. It's not a mall type place where you can get lost in, it's one of those places where the shops are all lined up in a row and you come out of one shop and into the next one - good for methodical shoppers, or those who don't have a lot of time. The downside is that the traffic on the Boucher Road can be crazy between 4 and 6p.m. But, if you're a visitor and you're out for a day's shopping, get yourself a 'day ticket' (see my Translink review) and you can take a trip up here before/after shopping in the city centre.
