We visited on a Saturday and it was packed with locals and tourists. The grounds are kept clean and the monument houses Ataturk's personal effects, as well as his final resting place. We watched the changing of the guards and strolled along the grounds. There is a small cafeteria for guests to purchase snacks and drinks. It is a place to show respect and has cultural significance to the Turkish people.
