Organic Select has been so helpful for our stay in PV! We were in town for 4 days, dined at their…read morerestaurant twice, and purchased nearly all of our groceries for our stay! The food from Organic Select is not only delicious, but is of such high integrity, that it has supported our bodies all week. We are grateful and will be sharing the good news of their offerings to friends that travel to PV regularly!

The young girl was new (early July 2021) and she brought my latte at the end of the meal when we had already eaten, for some reason, but I took it to go and enjoyed it as well. We came back the next day. The Abeja Reyna products in the front market are amazing - shampoo and conditioners, creams, buy them and take them home with you, they are impossible to find in the US. The owners of Abeja Reyna were on the cover of FORBES Mexico magazine. We took the huge bottles, packaged them in plastic, well sealed and they made it home perfect. Great selection of obleas and honey, nuts, produce, goat cheese, you name it! We come here everytime we visit PV. Don't let the neighborhood scare you away, it's safe, clean and the owner is delightful!

Pros: 1. They take…read moresolid COVID precautions on entry. 2. Decent selection and fair prices on food. 3. I enjoy the fresh juices at the counter. 4. The butchers are cool and I enjoy the selection of moles and seafood as well. 5. They have this luxury aisle (which is like a microcosmo of La Comer next door in one aisle). Interesting products. 6. The selling of electronics, appliances, school supplies and car gear makes it feel halfway between Walmart and Costco. 7. Solid pharmacy and sports section. 8. The bakery is godly. Seriously too notch and I think better than La Comer's bakery. Cons: 1. I got discriminated against after I paid. I went to join my 93 year old grandfather after I paid and tipped the man bagging my groceries. I was stopped by a woman in a Mega cashier uniform. She asked in Spanish about my blue swim trunks. I'm so-so in Spanish so I assumed she thought I was stealing. I emptied my pockets to show my I-Phone X and USA passport. Then asked in Spanish if she wanted to see my receipt. She brought over a coworker who spoke English. He said she thinks you stole those win trunks. I told him I get them in Vallarta in Costco. He said forget about it and let me off. I joined my grandfather waiting for me. My skin is darker and he is white so they probably could be a factor. I am mixed race Filipino-American. I was wearing my facial mask so my mustache was covered. I will have some empathy/critical thinking and say the world is anxious/on-edge from COVID. That same man appeared when we were loading our car (he did not walk us out). He apologized in English that his colleague thought I stole those shorts. I told him I would have had to come in naked then take the shorts Bruce's I have nowhere else to hide other shorts. He said she was just being stupid. In her defense, I later saw I did not remove the Kirkland tags from when I bought it at Costco yesterday. However, again, I'd have to come in naked to have stolen those trunks. And if she'd checked first instead of accusing me she'd probably find they don't carry those swim trunks here. Lazy accusations should be against store policy. I've had similar incidents happen to me around Vallarta. I know México is hurting, but it's no reason to assume a man with some color on his skin is a thief. In their defense, it seems that in both Mega and La Comer they view everyone as a potential thief. Hell they even have men with shotguns inside Costco in Vallarta. Not sure if they have robbery statistics to justify that attitude. If they don't, I suggest you give customers the benefit of the doubt and not just white customers. 2. Some cashiers or baggers can lack manners. 3. Smell the meats. I've had a cashier throw away chicken breast for me because he smelt it was old. 4. Mixed salads were mainly wilted but that's probably due to COVID. 5. Overstaffed and they don't seem too helpful when you ask a question. Again this attitude could be an offshoot of the COVID economic depression México is going through.
