The library provides free books and iPads for students. ‼However, opinions about the teachers vary. I have never encountered a worse teacher than German Bermudez! He is very arrogant, unfriendly, and the atmosphere in his class is always tense! He speaks with a strong Latin accent, and he never explains new words. He always speaks quickly, and he gives strict deadlines for homework that you can't complete (on an iPad), which other teachers don't do. As I was informed, he used to be a student and now he's a tutor, which is why he has a sense of grandeur. I am very disappointed that the college doesn't have control over who they hire... Additionally, I would like to recognize the most excellent teacher in this college, Patricia Viveros! She always smiles, jokes with her students, and is very helpful in explaining new words!‍‍ Her lessons are easy and fun, and the atmosphere is friendly! She is a great teacher with a lot of experience and a kind heart! Her teaching methods make it easy to understand and learn English! I would recommend her as the best teacher in California!

I remember thinking I was so smart being in honors history. Honors language arts. Algebra 1. Spanish 1. Ooooh I'm sooooo smart. Also, I never understood why kids who sucked up to their teachers here at Monte Vista were called "Smacks." I still don't get it. Oh, and PE. PE was the shit. We played cool things like team handball... and a foot-based volleyball game like sepak takraw... and paddle tennis. We also did a schoolwide cookbook, which was supposed to be a math project because it involved calculating the macronutrients and calorie values per serving, but I feel like no one really did the math except for me... Oh, and we did a music revue of America. Going west. In a covered wagon. Me and Mamie O'Rourke. Fifty nifty United States. Got to got to get us some elbow room. Swing low, sweet chariot, coming for to carry me home. And don't get me started on Renaissance trips to Magic Mountain. We destroyed that place. We're the reason I hate Magic Mountain now. Our son has…read morebeen there for nearly three years and our daughter has been there for the last several months. Good Shepherd truly feels like a community. All of the teachers know all of the kids, parents, and other adults in their lives. The teachers are all approachable and kind and always willing to go the extra mile to ensure all of the unique needs of each child are met in the best way. They are all collaborative with the parents on difficult days and always try and understand the "why" behind big emotions that little ones experience before jumping to time away from the group. The tenure of the teachers is also impressive, with very little turnover in the teachers. You can tell that Miss Jasmin and the team truly care about each other and the success of the school. The class sizes are small and well-staffed, which did not seem to be the case in several other pre-schools we had toured prior to GS, especially at the very reasonable monthly tuition rate and hours of operation. The activities and lessons are endless and always in a rotation to keep little minds from getting bored or overwhelmed. From trunk-or-treating, to in school farmers markets, endless crafts, sensory activities, water days, and more... Both of our kids are always thrilled to tell us about their days during pick up from school. The school feels secure and the staff are diligent in making sure the gate is locked at all times. I love that they regularly practice their safety drills, and our kids talk about how safe they feel at school with confidence. Our four-year-old is wise beyond his years, and we contribute so much of this to GSECC. Our two-year-old has had some delayed development, but she has grown leaps and bounds since starting her preschool journey here. We are so thankful for all that Good Shepherd has done for our family over the years. You will absolutely be making the correct decision in sending your child here.
