Set amongst tranquil lush greenery, the contemporary building of Oxley Golf Club sits welcoming guests at the entrance. It is a wonderful venue for hosting celebrations, corporate functions and a place to learn and play golf. I am not a golfer so I can't say I've ever experienced golfing here, but what I have attended are a few spectacular functions. They offer different function areas, including the Fairways Lounge which has wonderful views of the golfing range and the Margaret Donavon Pavilion set outdoors, both with great ambience. Menus for the sit down banquets can be tailored to suit the needs of the guests and the events coordinators here can discuss these requests in detail over the phone or in person. At one of the functions we were served an alternate drop of either tender steak with steamed vegetables or a chicken dish with potatoes. The wait staff were very professional and friendly. They were very attentive of the guests needs and were eager to refill empty glasses of wine. My Wife and I got Married at the Oxley golf course on the 19th November last year. We received our final bill on the Tuesday prior to our wedding which had charges on it that we were not made a where of when we book our wedding earlier in the year. The events manager never made contact with use unless we contacted her first. My wife and daughter finally managed to arrange a meeting with her and informed her we were expecting 30 to 40 Guess and she never explained that the charge a 20% surcharge for each guest under 60. We cancelled the drinks package as we are both on a pension and couldn't afford it than when we finally got the final bill it included a $1500.00 bar tab that had to be payed before the day of the wedding. It was explained to me by the then manager that it was to cover their costs and on the night the guests pay for their drinks then we would be rein burst up to the $1500.00. Their is now a new manager and when I tried to get our money back he informed me the $1000.00 was spent so we were going to get $500.00 back. I tried to explain that the guests payed for their drinks on the night so we should be getting the $1000.00 back but I was told that is not how it works. The new manager told me her was going to discuss it with the events manger and get back to me that was 2 weeks ago still waiting to hear from him. made a couple attempts to contact him but is not in. On the night of the wedding our guests started going home early as the staff started to clear of the tables while they were still eating their desert. The main course was late being served as well. My step daughter was charged $11.00 for a jug of lemonade and they another guest bought a beer and a wine and was charged about $19.00 so the drink prices are way over the top. read more
