Hello! I'd like to leave a review about my experience with internet from oxio. I've never heard of them before and for some reason, their services popped up during my research. I was looking into it, as I was moving to a new place without internet in 2022. Anyway, you know what was really outstanding to me and what basically got me hooked immediately? THEY ARE FUNNY! No idea why this was never mentioned in any of the other reviews. But this company has great humour. Go, read through their website. To me personally, this is outstanding and worth a lot. Tells me they are different. Real. I love it! Apart from that, you'll get: * easy installation (just plug it in yourself, easy step-by-step instructions via app) * free modem & router * unlimited home internet * no contract * no sign up fee I placed my order, picked the time slots for the tech visit (you can choose three!) and off it went. Done! I was excited. My modem & router arrived about a week after I ordered. It was very well packaged and I loved the personal touch with the stickers! Then I just had to wait for an email telling me: It's ready! Get cookin'! Few days earlier they messaged me that a tech visit wasn't necessary. Yay, me! I received the "you're ready to get started" email the day of my theoretical tech visit, which I didn't need. It was easy peasy. Scan the QR code that comes with your package and follow the instructions. Side note: If no tech visit is required, make sure you have a coaxial cable on hand. You'll need it to get the router connected. And you need one device with internet or data access to download the oxio app and get your network started. So far my internet works without any issues. My speeds are stable and reliable. I'm in Alberta by the way! My first month was free of charge because I used someone's referral code - Yes, here is mine: RRLFKLX - go wild! I have not needed any assistance from customer service yet, which is kinda sad, because I keep reading how great they are! So rare nowadays! In short: Just give them a shot. Nothing to lose. We switched to Oxio for our internet needs in late November 2021 for the 75/10 Mbps plan. Skip to the end for our previous internet provider's name. The box arrived with the modem and an Amazon based router, Eero which covers about 1500 sq ft. Set up was fairly straight forward. Without getting into technical details here are some pros and cons; Pros - Easy set up and installation - App available for the router which provides access to many options - Cheaper than major competitors with the same service - Bill breakdown and transparency - No contracts or hidden fees - No internet disruptions so far (5 mo. and going) Cons - Customer support can be a little slow at times - Might need to resolve to email communication - You might experience a delay between sign up date and installation date/internet accessibility - Limited area coverage (Ontario, Quebec) Overall we haven't had any issues or disruptions. The internet speed has been consistent even with VPN usage and occasional heavy downloading. Previous internet provider was TekSavvy, who was portraying itself as "we're all about the customer" and yet kept on increasing their prices annually ever so slightly even during the pandemic and blaming it on this or that factor. Case in point, we're currently getting the same service, 75/10 Mbps for $50/mo. plus tax from Oxio as opposed to $78 (tax included) from TekSavvy. We switched to Oxio in September, 2025 and I couldn't be happier. I wish we had switched years ago. Customer service is excellent and we know what our bill will be (no contracts, no surprises, no B.S.). I am now paying about half what Telus was charging, for 10 times the speed. Turns out I could have got a better deal from Telus but they never tell you that, you always have to fight with them and threaten to leave to get a better deal. (Always). I hate that. If you are someone that wants to talk on the phone for customer service this may not be for you, as it is all online but I actually prefer that. Keep in mind they use the infrastructure of big telecom (in my case Rogers/Shaw) so your service is only as reliable as the telecom provider. I hated the Telcos in Canada. As an immigrant coming from Europe a couple of decades ago, I was shocked by the rudeness, the commercial malpractices. It was simply not part of the toxic ecosystem that I came to abhor. Not going to lie was super skeptical at first as most reviews were just USE MY CODE! with zero actual info. Gave in and decided to give them a try since our current ISP kept upping their prices. Thus far they have been amazing. We are both heavy internet users for gaming, streaming etc. Ping is good, up and download speed are as advertised or very close to. We are actually getting slightly better ping then our old ISP but that could be the newer modem. Setup was easy, they include a router with your setup package but I can't comment on that as we used the one we already had. Been with Oxio for over a month now so I thought I'd leave a review for others wanting to try it. I only tried it because there is no contract and you can get the a free month with a referral code, so it seemed like a no brainer. It's worked out great so far. I've used it to stream with multiple devices and take video calls without any connection or latency issues. One note is that the customer service is text only, that might be an issue for some people. I found it useful the one time I had to contact them for setup. Also, you'll need a coaxial cable that doesn't come with the equipment. I have been using Oxio for about 4 months now. I was fed up by high bill cost from Fido home internet because they would only give 1 year deal and then I started paying over 80 dollars for the internet. I have used the internet services of Oxio for almost 3 years. Oxio uses the Videotron network, which is one of the best networks, but you pay much less, while their services are excellent. Pros: Very satisfied. Speed is always at least what I chose (60 Mbit/s) or more (e.g. 62). Very easy to use their site. Customer service responds by email the same day and is really helpful. Cons: The WiFi provides 2 networks: 5G higher speeds, can be unstable occasionally and Standard: slower speeds, but always stable and functional. I have been using Oxio for a little over 2 years now. And I would say have never had any complaints. It is one of the best service I have ever used. I am using 1GB speed at 60$. Which is pretty good compared to any other service provider. Also they shipped the equipment for free. I have had very minimal trouble and when I had one they where to quickest to resolve. Switched my internet in Mississauga (50 down/50 up) over from Bell last May, and have not had a single issue with Oxio (75 down/30 up). The quality of service has been exactly the same as what I'm used to, but now I'm getting faster download speeds for half the price. I've been pleasantly surprised by the service and highly recommend them. 8 months later and I'm still completely happy with the stability and speed of the service. We had a super good experience so far. We received the router within a few days and the technician (from Videotron) activated our line a few days later. Sad to report that oxio has terrible internet connection ( they had dozens of internet disconnections per day ) And they have the worst customer service, especially jayden he intentionally made answering the most basic of questions as painful as he or she possibly could for me.
