How many times have you encountered a specialty store that lived up to your preconceived notions…read moreabout the business, but surpassed those ideas? If your answer is "Never!" or "Not very often!" then I will tell you that I was a member of that club. That was true until today. I have Parkinson's Disease, which affects my gait when walking and erodes the strength in my muscles, especially my legs. However, a friend suggested that I make an appointment at the FootWorks store in Pickerington, Ohio, and just see what they can do for me. She allayed my concerns that they "would only want to sell me orthotic inserts." she told me this store would talk to me about what I needed to ease my pain and suffering, yes suffering. My wife and I made an appointment, and due to a customer cancellation, we were able to get in earlier. So, today we went to the store. Justin, co-owner, greeted us both. Then, he talked to me about my needs. I explained my need to get shoes that fit properly and allowed me to walk safely. My wife and I are participating in "Moving Day" in October, to support the Parkinson's Foundation by fund-raising and walking a full mile course. Even though I have contracted painful cellulitis in my left leg, I am still determined to complete the distance. Justin was friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable, and "willing" to work with me to provide the tools (shoes) to accomplish my personal goal. I knew my own shoes did not fit and caused even more pain and trouble. He measured both of my feet and told me he knew why I was having pain. My own shoe, a size 11, was not the correct size for my feet. I am really a size 12 1/2. No wonder I had blisters, bruises, and my feet hurt all the time! What a relief to hear that something could be done! But, only buying shoes that were my correct size was not the answer. I needed shoes that supported my feet, alleviated some of my pain. Justin showed me several different walking shoes "in my size" that surprised me with how comfortable they were. My walker is used for mobility, and as Justin and my wife watched me walk down the hallway, they remarked about how I was standing taller, my ankles were unlocked but supported and I was not dragging my feet, as I normally walk. (A common characteristic of people with advanced Parkinson's Disease). My belief about any business has always been that "customer service is the hallmark of any company." If you feel the same way, then check out FootWorks where you will be given outstanding customer support and shown quality products for your foot needs. The FootWorks Store is highly recommended by my wife and me. I ordered a pair, but will sadly have to wait till next week to get them shipped to the store. However, I have waited far too long already to get good shoes like these, so one week isn't really that long. Besides, I need to heal from my cellulitis so that I can continue my mile-long walking goal with my team. Maybe I'll see you on Parkinson's Moving Day. We'll likely recognize each other by how comfortably we are walking around on the trail!

The feet are more important than we know, and certainly nothing we put much thought into until something is wrong and quality of life stinks. Here they truly care and help to improve your general health and well being.

My adult daughter has suffered for a very long time with multiple health issues causing her walk to…read morebe uneven. Burning feet, hardened soles, knee, hip, back, and shoulder pain...all due to an uneven gait. I had heard about The Good Feet Store from a coworker who visited and had a positive experience, so I thought I'd take my daughter to get her feet checked out. We did not have an appointment, and we were fortunate they were not busy. However, I would recommend making an appointment because the associate takes a good while to focus on one customer at a time and the wait might be lengthy if you do not have an appointment and they are busy. Gavin helped us on our visit and he was so thorough, knowledgeable, patient, and helpful. He explained why my daughter had pain in all the areas she did, simply by the issues caused by her feet. He performed a demonstration without the insoles, then with the insoles, and it was literally like night and day. I was truly amazed how her walk was so greatly improved with the insoles! The three different sets of insoles recommended for her concerns were purchased, and a free pair of Brooks shoes was included in the purchase! We visited on 7/08/24 and today is 8/03/24, and I purposely wanted to wait almost a month before writing a review to see the longer term results of the insoles. My daughter noticed a difference in her gait immediately, and has learned to use the different insoles according to the recommendations provided by Gavin. She has had almost no hip or back pain, very minimal knee pain, and overall feels like she has done a 180 turn from before using the insoles! She and I both are now firm believers in The Good Feet Store!! I want to make one thing clear, regular store bought insoles will never be able to compete with those of The Good Feet Store! Also, they have a lifetime warranty on them if you keep the box. Even a podiatrist will not provide you with three different types of insoles for various tasks, nor will they provide you with a warranty. Two little ones went to the store with us and were able to use crayons and coloring papers to help occupy their time while we went through the whole process. If you are serious about having a better life experience, less pain caused by your feet, then this is the place for you! The cost can be a bit of a shock at first, but if you look at it as an investment in your health, it's a minimal cost for the improved life experience! They do offer Care Credit as financial assistance if necessary.
