This learning centre operates very poorly. The owners have increased enrolment since September 2024 to the point that kids are run through classes like in a military camp. Parents are not allowed to see how their children are being taught and if their child is receiving sufficient attention during the 3:1 student teacher ratio. Any other academic activity outside of school paid at this rate allows parent observation. Scheduling has also become a nightmare, and administration is difficult to work with. Not sure why an automated system is not available to book. Staff turnover for these teachers and administration working on student visas is also disruptive for students. Do not recommend this franchise to anyone. read more

We were introduced to Oxford Kitsilano by a friend who had their daughter at their Richmond location. (It is important to note here that the different Oxford Centres have different owners). We called a couple other locations that were actually closer to us but we ultimately decided to try the Kitsilano Centre based on my friend's review and also the great first impression after talking to Christina, the Education Director. This was the best decision as it has been amazing for our son! He is in grade 2 and really, really struggled with reading. After starting Oxford, he went from a Kindergarten reading level to a grade 2 level in about 6 months. My son even said to me, "Thank you for putting me into Oxford. It has helped me a lot." The staff there are wonderful and very on top of things! We are very happy and impressed and are so glad we chose Oxford Kitsilano to help our son. Highly highly recommend this location! read more

My son has been attending Oxford Kitsilano for almost 3 years now and I am really happy with his progress at school. His writing skills and self confidence has improved a lot. We have been with Oxford Learning Kits for more than a year. My son and my daughter both love it! The teachers here are amazing! They are helpful, knowledgeable and most importantly, they do love kids! Our son started Little Readers program with Ms. Jessie. She is patient, helpful and does not only focus on the academic part. We were struggling with his some immature behaviours which bothers me quite a bit. Ms. Jessie told me not to worry about it too much and try to focus on what he could do better than other kids, that his attention span is a lot longer than other kids. He could focus on his work without being disturbed by other kids playing around. She also taught us some methods to guide his behaviours. As time goes by, it turns out she is absolutely right. He got more mature and he got into St. George's this year! We really really appreciate it. It means a lot to us, not just for his academic part, but it boosts our confidence in him too! Now our daughter is also studying at Oxford Learning. Both my son and daughter now are with Ms. Marlo, who is one of the most amazing teachers I have ever seen! She is encouraging and patient, as well as loving! Our daughter doesn't speak much English at first, and she is a bit shy. But she learns so much this winter that she can tell Ms. Marlo simple stories about our family now! Our daughter is taking the online class with Ms. Marlo now, it works surprisingly well for such a young age. She is able to complete her work without feeling bored! We think that Oxford Kits is one of the best Oxford Learning around (we tried other oxford learning schools before)! The administration staff here are also efficient and helpful! Ms. Christina and Ms. Bonnie reply email within few hours and they can easily arrange class schedule flexibly! If you are considering choosing a school around, don't hesitate! read more

Always professional and accommodating administrative staff. Excellent tutors. We have seamlessly transitioned to online sessions and are grateful for kids engaged and learning at home. One of our original goal was to prepare for Johns Hopkins CTY SCAT test, and after 6 months of focused work on English skills at Oxford Kitsilano , our son has passed SCAT with advanced qualifying scores in English. Very grateful to our tutors and coordinators at Oxford for making it happen. They were very responsive to our requests and adjusted the curriculum to suit our goals. What a wonderful organization! I enrolled my daughter at Oxford in Kitsilano back in August for reading, writing and math. After only three weeks of attending, I noticed that my daughter's reading skills were already improving. She has since steadily progressed in all three areas and I am very pleased with the concrete results. The staff and teachers at the centre are very accommodating and pleasant to deal with. They provide me with updates on what they are currently working on with my daughter and how she is doing. Based on the strong improvements my daughter has made since going to Oxford, I would highly recommend this centre to others. read more
