This place did not disappoint. I was lucky enough to be having brunch with a friend who loves food, taking pictures of it and sharing everything he gets. He was also really hungry and ordered two different items off the menu. Thus we had a feast of El Gringo, muesli, and I ordered the French toast with bacon, bananas and ricotta. The El Gringo was ridiculously good! All the different flavors on the plate combined to create one amazing dish and two happy tummies! I'm not a muesli connoisseur so I don't have much to say, but it was very fresh, light and pleasing. The French toast is the bomb-dot-com! You have to try it! You have to make sure to get a small pice of everything in one bite. It is heaven in your mouth! I will definitely return to this place and will bring all of my overseas visitors AND tell all my friends about it. I liked it that much. Last but not least, I spoke to my friend today an he said he's been having dreams about the French toast we had! Haha he wants to go again before he flys home to LA.

But if you go to a café for a friendly barista and some great service, Atomica may not be the place for you. A simple and stunning little espresso and filter bar with a bench to wait inside and plenty of outdoor seating for coffee catchups and meetings. I am completely addicted to Small Batch coffee, so can easily say that the coffee is awesome and will always be awesome. The also have a small selection of beans for home. Treat wise, they are one of the few cafes that have Short Stop Donuts on hand. If like most of Melbourne you're bonkers for doughnuts, this should keep you pretty happy...BUT...if you care not for this fad or are willing to give something else a go then do not miss the cookies they have on offer. My partner bought an 'oreo' flavoured cookie and I was skeptical, because I have been disappointed by other oreo recreations. Unlucky for him, he had to share half because I decided to give it a taste and it was the best damn cookie I have ever eaten. I took as many photos of it as my will power would allow (i.e. none). Simple choice really - if you have a meeting or need a caffeine hit on St.Kilda Rd, this is the place to head.

They brew Small Batch coffee and every time I've been in, the coffee has been SPOT ON! Coming from someone who works in the Paris end of town, I'd like to think I have one of the best selection of coffees in town and these guys are right up there in terms of the coffee they make! More importantly, the coffee is consistently good, no matter who the barista is. They recently introduced a light breakfast/lunch menu with interesting and delicious savoury croissants! I've tried both the ham and crayfish croissants and absolutely loved them! If you work or live on St Kilda Road and need to refuel, definitely visit these guys. My partner got the latte and from the smell of it it seemed top notch! Also he said it was pretty damn special - so take his word for it guys :) So when hungover, time went by real slow for me. I was content sitting there spacing out and sipping on my OJ. Had I not been hungover though, I would have realized that 35 minutes went by and we didn't have our food yet. During that 35 minutes my partners coffee was long gone and 2 times that a waitresses came over she never offered him another coffee..! One of the waitresses came over extremely apologetic and promised us it was 5 mins away and admittedly they forgot about our order.. Dan was pretty dejected from this moment and wasn't very impressed with the place! They redeemed themselves though! Firstly they offered a second round of drinks on the house, and the food did come within 5 mins (notice that by the time we had our food we were now able to order the Reuben..
