Oxfam are one of those big NGOs that seem to have their finger in every pie going - climate change, the travesty of the DRC, musical events, shops...the list is endless. The Dublin branch is no different, with shops dotted around the city and a very highly visible presence around about (now if only they could forget about those damn chuggers that accost me on the street because I apparently look 'approachable'!). They do good work though, recently bringing in a sand sculptor (whoever thinks as a kid that that's their life's ambition has far more imagination than I do!!) to highlight their most recent campaign about climate change. They work hard to get the public involved, and that's commendable, though I still maintain that chugging should be illegal. It's just annoying. read more
