I'm in two minds about this one. On the one hand, I think it's a nice idea. Putting all the designer stuff in one shop makes sense. It also makes it easier for anyone who's shopping for something a bit fancy, but would prefer a bargain (although the word bargain is used loosely in this instance).
However, call me cynical, but I really don't think that that many people are going to give their nice designer clothes to a charity shop. For one thing, if it costs that much to buy and it's in good enough condition for someone else to wear, it's going to get sold on eBay, not given away. And if they're rich enough to throw away designer clothes without a second thought, are they likely to be the type of person who donates their clothes to a charity shop? Plus, if it's that nice, why would you get rid of it in the first place?
If anything really lovely ever turns up at this store, I'm fairly certain that the ladies who work there grab it before it goes onto the shop floor, because I've never seen anything worth buying in here. Especially not for more than £5.
Designer or no, the clothes here are not that nice. Whether that's because whoever selects what goes on sale here has no taste or because, like I said above, no-one wants to give away clothes that are actually wearable, I'm not sure.
This shop is great in theory, but unfortunately, it doesn't work out so good in practice. read more
