They had a red and blue cake (raspberry and blueberry), as well as a chocolate fruit and nut cake and a gluten free chocolate cake. These apparently change daily and on busy days, I'm told as often as four times per day. No promises the favor you wish will be available. As for the chocolate and banana cake, I was a little disappointed they use artificial banana. Fresh banana in cake makes it moister and has a natural banana flavor, which I'd have much preferred. The chocolate part of the cake was good and moist. The filtered coffee was good and strong. I think they had a multitude of other sweets near the register, too!

She worked with me to decide on exactly what to create. Even though the things I asked for aren't typically items that she makes, she told me that she was a "romantic" and would be happy to make a special order for me. She even ended up adding decorations on her own because she wanted to make it extra special! Such a lovely person to work with!!! Her husband hand-delivered the cake & chocolate-covered strawberries to my boyfriend on our anniversary and even passed along a special message. My boyfriend was totally surprised and absolutely impressed with the presentation of the gift itself. He also said that the cake and strawberries were incredibly DELICIOUS!!! He really tried to ration them out to last longer, but they were so good he couldn't help eating them within about a week and a half haha. Mama Bear is the greatest, and if you live in the area, you should DEFINITELY choose her shop! I'd be there for coffee and baked goods daily if I didn't live across the pond! haha.

This is new branch is a very small shop and we were lucky to get a seat. It does the same cakes as the main shop but not as many. We went for a chocolate mousse to share and it was very nice. Quite rich and would not have had a full slice after eating a large lunch. We had a hot chocolate and this is the reason I've marked it down from 5* as it wasn't the same hot chocolate as I usually get in the larger store. It was very nice hot choc with cream but the one in the other shop is richer and thicker and to be honest, was a little disappointed not to have that here. I shouldn't have to make an excuse to go here - It's excellent. The ground floor is their outstanding chocolate and cake shop - definitely worth spending some time here tasting and choosing what they have on offer. Their selection of over 40 celebration cakes on display are stunning - you'll find yourself staring at them like some sort of art. A few of the wedding cakes are pushing £1,000.. asking if it would be worth it? For me, yes! Their cakes are amazing - no wonder Wayne Rooney bought his wedding cake from here and had it shipped to Italy. You'll find me with my face pressed up against the viewing window where you can watch the cake decorators working hard to perfect these masterpieces *drool* I'm certainly not planning my wedding or anything but I already know that there's a massive possibility that my cake will be from here. On the first floor is an elegant restaurant serving breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, and of course CAKE. The menu is fab and I haven't heard anybody mention a bad word about it. I have yet to visit the restaurant and I hear that unless you book weeks in advance you've no chance of getting in, but this only makes me want to try it even more and it is certainly on my list. In the past I have bought baskets from here and made my own hampers, mainly for family or friends at Christmas time - consisting of chocolates, hand make cakes, biscuits, marmalades, wines etc (all locally sourced). However it didn't detract from the taste, the pastry was rich and buttery but the cream was just sweet enough and light to make it work. The range covers apple danish slices (my own personal favourite), to lemon meringue pie slices, carrot cake, chocolate muffins, malteser crunch cakes and their speciality Dickson Road cakes, invented 60 years ago for the daughter of the family. The savoury pies, pasties and sandwiches are all incredible. They use the absolute BEST ingredients and as somebody who will not eat meat products for fear of finding a bit of gristle, you should see me wolf down their sausage rolls and lamb hotpot! The hotpot is available in single portions, 6 person trays or 10 person trays and can be bought hot or taken home and oven baked. They also do incredible cakes (at short notice too!) for any event you can think of. Their home delivery party/buffet service has an extensive menu and is always delivered on time and with a happy, smiling face. Not only do they provide plastic cutlery free of charge but also paper tablecloths, napkins and even a binbag to clear up afterwards! Avery busy venue, the quality of its produce speaks volumes, we use it as a weekly treat and enjoy meat and potato pies, with a jam slice. You can aslo choose hot soups, cakes, sandwiches and if you have a special occasion they will make and ice birthday or celebration cakes. They have also further branched into the catering business and cater for outside events. They also run a couple of small outlets. Ever popular,i can't see them ever going out of business.

This wonderful shop is set in a shopping precinct on a main road, but it has a car park! You can't miss it since its logo is bright pink and black. As soon as me and my papa walked in we were super lovely greeted by big smiles from the staff. The selection of cakes is fab, but they specialise in celebration cakes including big extravaganzabonanza wedding cakes (visit the shop in Wilmslow for the best display). The cakes we so tempting I just asked the lady to put me a box together of her favourites and I couldn't wait to get home and open it to see what I had been given. Turns out it was a florentine (my all time fav, and my oh my it was good!), a custard filled lemon bun (wow), a caramel shortcake and a chocolate muffin with chocolate frosting and marshmallows! All were super tasty and I feel really pleased with the lady's choice. We didn't buy any bread from here today but the owner kindly let us sample the hot cross buns which the bakery boasts are the best in the area. I don't think she's got a challenge on her hands (unless she crosses the ringroad) they were really really good and soft and fresh and amazing. A great real bakery, where FRESH goodies are available at great prices with great service!
