They have given in every way to the local community. The services have modern worship and excellent teaching and preaching. They have worked hard to have a world class children's program and the services have state of the art audio and visuals. I have not seen a focus on money at Cathedral of Life at all in the time I have attended. The only time I have seen any coaxing to give was when it was to give to another church or family that was in need.

I'm not convinced. Then Dave stands up and preaches. My wife says at the end "It's like he was talking to ME." I'm still not convinced. You see, here's the thing about me. I need to see things more than once. Consistency is a big deal to me. It takes more than just one time... So we came back the next weekend. And the weekend after that. For about three months. My wife said "This church is awesome." And I was convinced. You should check it out.

This is a very upbeat, modern day church, with sermons covering topics that can enhance your practical, day to day living and keep you motivated for the coming week ahead. Also, warm and welcoming hospitality and a heart for the community around them. It is a very nice free spirited atmosphere. Our 11 yr. old son loves it! Great for families who want to grow spiritually and people who desire to be used in service. This is starting to feel like home. Check them out and see for yourself!

Let me start by saying that I grew up in a Pentecostal ministry where they taught speaking in…read moretongues as an additional gift you receive from God that is separate from your salvation. The gift of the Holy Spirit and speaking in tongues was well explained and was not glossed over or thrown in your face. I attended the last 2 nights of the Jesus Tent revival hosted by this church. The first night was great, a lot of water baptisms, great worship music, testimonies and teaching and an opportunity to move forward to receive whatever was needed in your life - repentance, deliverance, healing... We went again last night and it started off the same. After a short testimony and message by a young man, they brought an older gentleman to the platform. He told us his name but never identified what position he held at the church. He went right into telling everyone to move forward then stated we all need the Holy Spirit and needed to speak in tongues. I have been saved for 45 years and filled with the Spirit and when I looked around the tent, I saw many people who came in off the street, maybe first time "church" attendees and some who probably never heard of speaking in tongues. This man gave no direction at all, never explained what it meant to receive the gift of the Spirit. Just told everyone to lift up their hands and start praising God and He will fill you with the Spirit and you will speak in tongues. Many of the church members gathered by the guests and started to encourage them to say certain praises and really reach out to God. So many people looked confused and had no idea what they were doing. The church I came out of ended up doing this same thing to our congregation. So many people were destroyed because they never received the gift of tongues and felt ashamed or embarrassed by this. I also spoke to many others who "faked it" because they wanted to fit in and never received the gift either. There is nowhere in the bible that states you must have the gift of tongues to be saved or enter heaven, yet churches like this place so much emphasis on this that it outweighs all the other gifts that God has promised believers. If you're going to "force" this on attendees, at least have the courtesy to explain what the purpose of tongues are and let them know that it is an additional gift that God offers and is not required to be a Christian. I had 2 church members praying with me and when there was a pause in this segment, I explained to them that I was saved, filled with the Holy Spirit and this felt out of order. My daughter and I left their shaking our heads and hope that people did not leave their more confused than when they came in. You wonder why church attendance is down in this country, actions like this drive people away.

This is done in very many different ways and ministries! Lead pastor Adam Romans knew us by name after a couple weeks attending here. He has a wonderful wife, Christina, who serves sacrificially from the shadow, with all her heart, dedication and love. They are very welcoming and have a beautiful family. Pastor Adam takes personal interest in getting to know you as individual! He is very well educated yet humble; compassionate and caring; devoted and wise. He preaches the Word in truth and love. Pastor Steve Moroney is a great teacher of the Bible. We love his in-depth Bible Studies. He is also very wise, knowledgeable, supportive and caring. Pastor Isaac Van Epps manages the Care Department at the church. Although he is new to Parkside Green, he is very experienced and wise counselor/teacher. He is a patient, gracious and encouraging pastor! The student and children's ministries are blooming due to fantastic leaders and volunteers who do the job with much love, wisdom, dedication and empathy! Here, at this church, are many support groups that are doing a phenomenal work in the community due to the love manifested by their volunteers. We have been coming here for about 3 years and absolutely love the people, the pastors, the teaching and the worship.

Prospering for a decade, in 2019 Parkside Green chose to become independent again, and other than retaining the Parkside name, there is little connection between the two churches. Lead Pastor Adam Romans is a compassionate, well-educated man whose sermons are historical-based, not theme-based, so you are more likely to leave a Sunday service thinking "Good to know" rather than "Wow! Great message! I can use that concept in my daily life this week!". Pastor Steve Moroney recently retired from a career teaching theology at Malone University and he is excellent at teaching Bible studies; the childrens' programs are respected by families. On the downside, if you are looking to interface with Alistair Begg's network, the affiliation is now nearly absent, and Parkside Green is struggling with making effective/proper decisions through its inexperienced elders. Worship/music has talent available but lacks the music dynamics expected for a church of this size, possibly due to novice leadership. Church membership requirements have become inappropriate for some, being circumstantially-based rather than Biblically-focused. I attended here regularly for the past year; church rejected my potential for service, and did not provide annual accounting as required by the IRS for my ongoing financial contribution. Put this church on your "shopping list" but be careful that it is essentially starting over again by its own choice.
