I was a bit on the fence when I first signed my lease but after living here for a few months I am ready to renew my lease. The gym in Irish Flats is incredibly nice (and a huge reason why I signed in the first place) because of the great amount of machines and the overall cleanliness in general. I have also never been a fan of tanning machines, however, they have an awesome tanning bed set up on their property that I enjoy using from time to time. It has a beautiful beach themed area where the tanning beds are set up and it is all very relaxing. I currently live in a 3 bedroom apartment with 2 roommates and I absolutely love it. The space is more than enough, the furniture in the apartment does not look used but rather brand new. I've only had a couple issues in my apartment as far as some appliances go but the maintenance team is very reliable and got my issues taken care of in less than 24 hours. Overall, I have had a lot of trouble with past apartments but Irish Flats has been nothing short of perfect. The staff is inviting, the community itself is well taken care of and the apartments are better than all other apartment complexes I have had the opportunity to live in. If you are a student or just somebody looking for an apartment close to Notre Dame with full access to the town surrounding then Irish Flats is the place for you.

Given that the…read morecumulative rent for a three person flat is HIGHER than that of downtown Chicago, it is upsetting that the sidewalks outside of the buildings do not get salted, the hallways and stairwells do not get cleaned, and it appears that the bathroom in the gym doesn't get cleaned since there has not been toilet paper in it for a while. These are all things that the old management took care of, as they should, given the high rent in South Bend, Indiana. Service requests are answered promptly and the flats are large and walkable from campus.

Warning to students, or young professionals: University Edge / Redstone Residential is problematic…read more I moved in March 2026 as a student and paid over $2,100 upfront (deposit + rent). Within weeks they filed eviction proceedings against multiple tenants, including me. Maintenance issues are common, communication is poor, and many residents report problems getting deposits returned even when leaving the unit clean. I have secured new housing at Irish Row for August and plan to move out cleanly. Current tenants -- document everything and consider your options carefully before signing. Also, the property showed little regard for tenants who lost pets (no condolences or support) while other complexes in the area do. Current tenants should document everything.
