This is an update, we had an interesting couple of days. My wife had a nail in her tire. My truck was at Winston auto care for a 90,000 mile tuneup and our RV broke down. This time we had the truck in for an oil change and transmission service. That doesn't sound hard to anyone who remembers having room under the hood but today's pick ups have computer modules for everything and they stack and combine things that doesn't make sense to put together. In a Ford F-150 pickup the way to service the transmission requires dropping the oil pan (no sense at all) and is a bit complicated. They have the skills and knowledge to do any job you need done. B & S is O'Reilly's repair shop so if you have a problem related to service while on the road, you can take your vehicle to an O'Reillu's and have it fixed at no cost.

He was fair and honest, showing me the cost up front. When I arrived to pick up my car after he fixed it, he was obviously still very busy but he took the time to talk with me and did not rush me out of the shop, even though another customer walked in right behind me. This shop has been in business since 1983; no one sticks around that long unless they're doing the right thing. I appreciate a personable customer-oriented mechanic who is honest, up-front, option-oriented, and just plain nice. As a woman, I'm often talked down to when it comes to things like cars and I did not experience that at all at this mechanic's. Even though his price was more than fair, I'd even pay more for a decent shop that does good work. I believe this place qualifies on all counts. I'd get my car serviced or repaired here again in a heartbeat.

I found Colby Lemings Automotive Specialties Is a highly professional and conscientious automotive repair facility. John and Jeremy are highly knowledgeable specialists who provided a complete and accurate diagnosis of my problem along with the required action and options available to me. Unfortunately, my situation, a leaking heater core, did not allow for a "quick fix" and parts and scheduling commitments would have delayed me several more days. However, Jeremy consulted with John and together they looked at the option of safely bypassing the affected system to allow me to get home. After completely explaining everything the procedure and its limitations to me, I agreed to the temporary repair which was then completed in a safe and timely manner. As a precaution, I checked for a recurrence of leakage on the trip home, however there was none and the mechanic who completed the repair commented on the quality of the bypass procedure.

Bona Fide got me fixed up and back on the road. They were also able to clear some incredibly annoying dashboard codes that I'd previously been told only the dealer could clear. But what really earned my loyalty happened eight months later. I started hearing a whistle when using the exhaust brake and called Bona Fide. They told me it was likely a failing gasket and, without any prompting from me, said that if it turned out to be one of the gaskets they'd replaced in December, they would repair it under warranty at no charge. I brought the truck back, and sure enough, it was one of those gaskets. They stood behind their work and repaired it at absolutely no charge. No excuses, no trying to convince me it was something else, and no surprise bill. They simply honored their warranty and did what they said they would do. That's how you earn a customer.
