They also have chicken satay sticks? I love a bakery with variety... and you know what, it tastes really good too. Never has let me down and always well priced, i'm a big fan.

Not only do they have a wide variety of bread options and sweet baked treats, they usually have a discount table towards the afternoon. You can find all sorts of baked goods on the table as it varies from day to day. Many times I've picked up their scones at half price or sometimes even more than half price. I have taken home bags of cookies at a fraction of the cost or loaves of bread heavily discounted. When I am planning on having guest over in the afternoon, I duck out quickly to see the specials. I know, sounds a bit sad, but it is a part of my grocery run and they do have hard to resist specials a lot of the time. Clearly, I get bread here a lot! The service here is wonderful. The ladies behind the counter are very patient with me. I like to take my time in choosing my cakes and baked goodies. I like planning on when and what I will be consuming during the week. Sometimes they might even pop in a suggestion- I think it may be a ploy to rush me, but I still very much appreciate it. Great little bakery in Jindalee with great value for money options.

Not often do you feel like you've walked into another country, and although quaint and near an IGA,…read morethis places is my little piece of German Pie. The cafe is clean, very German feeling (I've never been to Germany, but I have a vivid imagination), and might I say should change its name to King of Pies. As you walk past the tables outside and the hat stand with newspapers (including German), the entrance presents itself to you with pies. There is a very classic pie list of plain steak, chicken and bacon pies, but my personal favourite at $5 is the Steak and Mushroom. The pie gives you no crap (literally) and is packed full of flavour with tender pieces of mouth watering steak and stewed mushrooms, you won't be disappointed. The crust is non-flakey and crispy and the pies are hot... I am a big fan and sometimes, find myself craving one... particularly from this bakery (it does not help that it is also on the way to work). Walking in a little bit more you can see the devilishly delightful window of assortments of pastries and cakes. Also delicious and very neatly spread out. In the fridge next to the pies you will find German jams and other assortments of German accompaniments and in the fridge next to the cashier on the far inner corner your drinks. There is seating on the inside too, but it is a nice change from the usual streetside cafe. This cafe is clean (sorry for repeating, but it's true) and cool and the cakes, pies and other tasty treats are fresh, gourmet and so Yelpingly tasty. I don't often offer my four stars to bakeries, but this one is my personal favourite. PS. All sandwiches are on Turkish bread - my personal favourite - Turkey and Cranberry. Don't buy the pies until after 7am... they are nice and hot then.

When I arrived at around 1pm, Miettes Boulangerie was bustling with customers sitting outdoors on a…read morecold day. With my book in hand, I decided I'd have my regular skinny latte with a slice of hazelnut chocolate cake (which I've forgotten the name of). Miettes uses Campos coffee, which is supposedly good I suppose, but my skinny latte turned out too dark. It was a bit too bitter for me and left me a bit disappointed. The cake's flavour was decent, but was a bit difficult to cut, as it had many different layers. The texture was a bit chewy, which I had mixed feelings about, but the chocolate layers were good. I was expecting more of a flaky crunch, and perhaps the look of the cake was deceiving, but it was a bit heavy and not really my thing. Maybe I should have gone for the lighter passionfruit flavoured cake, or a croissant instead. It was really pretty though! They do have breads and cookies in the back that look delicious, but my cake left me dubious. The service was excellent, but I'm not sure this place is as good as Urbanspoon says. The plastic chairs and outdoor seating are also not my favourite, but I suppose it's not much to complain about. If you think differently about this place and think I've just gone on a bad day, drop me a note and a recommendation!

Owned by Greg Willis and his wife Anne, not only does this little cafe hustle and bustle at 6:30am (I'm pretty sure it opens earlier) and directly opposite from another European style cafe... and most importantly it sells something called Cinnarolls (I had every intention of taking a picture of mine, but I ate it... so pic to come) which are these upside down cinnamon rolls topped over with icing which isn't over the top sweet... just a delight for morning tea. Also try the assortment of sourdough artisan breads and a Marjolaine and Strawberry tart for a taste of France. They also serve piping hot pies and sausage rolls and a variety of freshly baked goods. It surprised me how busy this little cafe got so early in the morning on a week day when everything else seemed to be closed. Lots of bike riders and walkers come here regularly and to give you an idea of how busy this cafe gets, there are at least 4 staff serving up the delishioso pastry and coffee. It's a delight to see a cafe serve piping hot pastries, not soggy semi-cold ones this early in the morning and I will definetely be back. Note: They serve Campos coffee here!.

The baguettes are feather light and crispy, the pork is tasty and the crackling is super crunchy. I found this place by their high ratings on google and now I understand why. The flavor of the meat is on point. Bread is crunchy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. They put a generous amount of pate and mayo which I love ! What I've noticed is that they don't put a lot of cucumber or coriander which I usually prefer, but instead this makes the meat in the banh mi stand out. You can't go wrong with this place. They have viet ice coffee on order and it's $3.50. $3.50 ! Espresso shots cost more than that so get this coffee. It's not the strongest in my opinion, but still pretty good. For FYI though, they do not accept card so definitely bring cash as atms around the area are limited ! So yeah...I'm going to get fat now on deliciously affordable banh mi now
