There's a lot of vintage but it either is extremely high end or catered towards men in Lyon. I will say if I see another multi colored windbreaker and video game/band tea from the 80s or early 90s, it will be too soon. Well it's fun to see what other countries and cultures, our valuing, as somebody who lived through the 80s and 90s, I don't understand why it's somehow the height of hipster fashion these days. We were looking for some real quality women's thrift shopping and we found that at Carey Brad shop. The proprietor was very sweet and his English was very good. He was really helpful and, let us know he traveled all around to find his pieces. He was also helpful, and what we were looking for. We only had a chance to stop in for a little bit. The only reason I didn't get five stars is it opened a little bit late, and while it's most likely a sole proprietor, an hours are limited most likely due to Covid, and less of a tourist population, if I do find myself in Lyons I will definitely be going back again. If you're there, highly recommend. Lots of really cute accessories, shoes, and well priced. As noted, there's high end women's vintage in France, a lot of Chanel, and designer, but this spot had quite a variety of price points, and was not high end, but high-quality.

On inscrit ainsi le vêtement dans un nouveau contexte pour une nouvelle histoire, une nouvelle vie ! ". It was in French, but I was able to understand it well, I just can't respond in French when it's sort of technical! The talk included how Francois I created the trade and how Lyon had at its hight over 5,000 small manufacturers. This store is well known for their loomed designs, where the silk is woven with colors and more. The work is absolutely stunning and I wish I could have bought so much more! I picked two amazing jacquard shawls, a silk square with a tulip design for my sister, a beautiful jacquard tie for my cousin and a hand painted silk scarf. I truly loved the selection, and it was VERY hard to choose. The prices seemed extremely fair for the work that goes into the pieces. If I bought them in the US, they'd be triple the price or more. The store is small and adorable, but the best part was the learning about the manufacturing of such stunning things. I'm glad I bought what I did, but I could have bought so many more pieces!

First off, there is a long tradition behind the silk industry in Lyon and I was seeking as special gift that could be found no where else but Lyon. This is THE place for such a thing. The employees were friendly, helpful, funny, interactive... and every positive adjective I can think of. I kept picking things and thinking "too old for a twenty something?" and finally I just told the charming employee what I was looking for, a bit about the person's taste, why I was buying and she immediately plucked off the display EXACTLY what I had envisioned in my mind! If you haven't visited, they do tours (good for kids) on hand silk screening, you can buy silk ready to "do it yourself" and they just have some beautiful stuff. I'm not a big scarf person but if I had the money to buy several of the big velvet and silk scarfs, they would have been a stunning valance in one of my rooms at home! They also have velvet/velour ones that look simply majestic but I just stuck to the silk scarves. They are perfect to accessorize any outfit so be sure to get a few in different color schemes. They also make great gifts! Service is very good and they will answer all your questions. Don't miss this little shop in Lyon! It's in a great neighborhood full of restaurants, pubs, and stores.
