For the first two years of her life, we went to a different vet where we never felt a real connection. The staff seemed scared of our dog, and visits were always stressful for everyone involved. When we adopted two kittens, we decided to give Paw Prints a try because of the great reviews and their close location. From the very first visit, we knew this place was different. Our dog was incredibly anxious and wouldn't let Dr. Crowe or his staff touch her. But instead of rushing the appointment or showing frustration, Dr. Crowe sat on the floor with her for over 30 minutes, patiently working to earn her trust. That level of compassion and patience meant the world to us. Rather than jumping to sedatives (as our previous vet did), Dr. Crowe recommended the CHILL Protocol. I'll admit--I was skeptical. But today, after following the protocol, we brought our pup back in... and she was like a different dog. She was still a little nervous, but she didn't need a muzzle, didn't hide, didn't bark incessantly. She even let the vet tech give her a shot without reacting--and when Dr. Crowe came in, she barked once, then went right up to him for pets and love. This visit felt like a breakthrough. I'm not sure if it was the protocol, the incredible staff, or both, but it was night and day compared to our past experiences. My dog is 17 & has a UTI, I thought when your vet is open for business you can go there... It wasn't the office staff who refused it was the Vet her self. My dog has been pretty healthy all her life until here lately, & now the Vet I've been using for years won't see her...I feel abandoned. I have two small dogs, so I am always worried about them! I found Cleveland Park Animal Hospital through my trusty Yelp App! It was not the first vet I tried in Greenville, but it will be the last. We are so happy to have found a home here. I have taken my dogs a few times to visit the staff here and they have always been so accomodating. I usually try to make appointments, but even without one they will try their best to squeeze you in in a timely fashion. The vets and techs are so great with the animals and you can tell everyone working there loves their job. They are always available to answer questions over the phone and have saved me from having to come in a few times, which is always appreciated. They may be a little pricier over a few other vets, but they are the best of the best here. The facility is amazing and so pretty and I love the glass window that allows you to see what is going on in the back. I was able to watch my dog as he had his shots in the back and it seemed every person back there stopped to show him a little extra TLC. They really take their time and are great with all animals. Ever since that diagnosis, I have spent almost $15,000 on that cat. Last month, I learned the diagnosis was absolutely incorrect. He did not have lymphoma and the in Pennsylvania was shocked that another had given that diagnosis. He had a staff infection that had been raging for years because it wasn't treated. He was an excellent candidate for surgery been done years ago. He is currently on a round of antibiotics so that he may have surgery in the future. It is made far too difficult to get an appointment, where you are NOT charged additional charges for a visit, that they can call an emergency visit or an urgent visit even when you are waiting 2-3 days for the visit. It's as if they are trying to make an extra dime anywhere and anyway they possibly can. Again...I have NO PROBLEM with the doctors! Other than the fact that they must be going along with this plan to get every cent from us that they can. I've felt this way for a good while now but our most recent experience led me to write this review. We took our 16 year old boy for a visit because of allergies and itching. Due to his age I had not put him on a flea preventative this summer, nor could they find a single flea on him anywhere! The doctor talked us into putting him on a very expensive flea preventative insisting it was safe for him even at his advanced age so we bought it along with a very expensive injection that was to help with the itching. They said that our other dog, 9 years old, would need to be treated as well so we bought the preventative for him as well. Our bill was several hundred dollars for the medications alone. I normally purchase their yearly preventatives at the Humane Society because they are so much less expensive for the exact same medication but I always feel like they don't appreciate it when you ask to get a required medication filled elsewhere. They seem a little 'out off' by that. So this day I bought everything there and paid the extra cost. I called back very soon after this visit to get a refill on our other dogs' maintenance medication and the front line folks said that they will not give us a refill without an office visit. It just feels strange that they didn't insist on a visit to sell us the other very expensive prescription medication but for a piece of paper - a prescription - a visit is required. He is a rescue with unknown past and has had to be on Prozac for a long time. It's not as if it's a dangerous drug that requires bloodwork or anything. It is the 'front line' folks that you MUST deal with. Maybe they are not the most pleasant of people when it comes to the appointment process or maybe they have been trained to do it this way. Due to a circumstance beyond our control, we live solely on social security now that we are seniors. We are both ill and have several specialists that we pay to see and are on a lot of medications ourselves so money is very tight. We take care of our two babies though!! They are our world! We will pay what we have to in order to make their lives good but it just seems that sometimes it's made harder for folks than it needs to be.
