Hello TK Maxx. Why do I always expect so much of you? Why do I think that I can go into your store…read moreand find the perfect item that will fit. I never have and I probably never will. And yet I continue to go in, load my arms with items of clothing, take said items to changing room before returning items to rather peeved off looking member of staff who is tired of seeing this pattern not only in my behaviour, but also in that of every other person who walks into this store. Hello TK Maxx shopper. Please don't look at how much an item was before you've actually tried it on and fallen in love with it. This is the only way you can claim it is a bargain or a saving, not simply a mistake on the part of the designer. Hello TK Maxx worker. I'm sorry for burdening you with all the odd items I've picked out in the past, and I feel dreadful that I'll inevitably feel compelled to do it in the future. With a massive selection of largely random items, this Aladdin's cave of shops has a huge array of items on sale, ranging from household items and clothes to toys and beauty products. If you do manage to stumble across something that takes your fancy, the prices are hard to beat, with many great items for as little as under a fiver. Not the best place to find anything specific, but if you just fancy a browse around the shops, TK Maxx is a good place to start.

Clarks deliver a very good service, and employees know their stuff. There has to be a reason why Clarks is still going after all these years. And, of course, there is a very good one. They sell shoes of a superb quality. Admittedly you're maybe not going to find all the most up to date fashions in a Clarks shop, but you will find simple, comfortable, classic styles which are likely to last you a lifetime. If you need shoes sensible shoes, then this will always be the place to go. This is a particularly good place to come if you have particularly wide, small, or generally a little bit weird, feet. So few high street shoe shops actually cater to these needs, it makes a pleasant and handy alternative.

I pretend the metatarsal injury was a dramatic moment when I was playing football for Wales. In fact it was a nasty sauna accident. So, problem feet. Clarks shoes are the only ones I can wear without limping. Which in some ways is lucky because they are well made and not as boring as you'd think. Currently I'm sporting a beautiful pair of turquoise blue and in my cupboard are long red boots. Catch the 70% sale and it's even cheap!

My only slight complaint is that there was a rather odd smell when I was in there (rather worrying as there is a café upstairs). However don't le this you off, this is a lovely little shop and really helped make me fall in love with the incredibly quaint and unusual Lantrisant.

Ornaments; expensive watches, china, vases, paintings, a grandfather clock or two, jewellery, furniture and some stairs slap bang in the middle of it all leading up to a second floor, where there is a... a tiny, busy little cafe all springing and is full of wonderful life and joy. Down stairs you can hear the chattering of female voices; the old baby or toddler crying, plates, knives, forks, and cutlery cluttering together, and sometimes the odd smashing sound of china, but that is extremely rare. A small cafe that is very popular; making it very busy regularly, depending on the time of year perhaps. It is a quaint and neat building and cafe and I have enjoyed going there every so often. It is out of the back and beyond almost, but there are some other shops and places to visit around there. The food prices are brilliant and I always enjoy having crisps with every yummy sandwich order and the delicious creamy cakes. The staff are very happy and smiley people and they welcome you to their hubby hole, that is very cosy indeed.
