Kid burger #2

Profoundly disappointing 3rd meal from this location in 2 weeks. Maybe Wednesday night is the wrong night to order curbside. However I won't be dropping another $50 to test that theory out. The brocculi required re-cooking TWICE in order to make it palatable. Raw was not what I had expected. Never got my bread (which made me sad because I LOVE their bread) but I did get plenty of butter containers which I felt was a cruel consolation prize. The steak had more fat than acceptable given the cost and that this was allegedly a center cut sirloin and even though I upgraded to 8oz tonight it was puny and seemed DECIDEDLY smaller than its predecessor from earlier this week (which was 6oz). In addition it was NOT a medium well steak. I also had to re-cook this item as well -see attached photos. I arrived 3 min after the end of the 22-27 minute readiness window (30 minutes after the order, was placed). Parked. Called. Called 4x before I was able to reach anyone. Was told the Hamburger was still cooking. 14 min LATER I was provided my meal. My very cool and undercooked meal. The cold steak, the raw brocculi and the two carelessly made child hamburgers. It would be comical were it a cheapo diner I had just visited. But tonight's meal was from Outback and I expected more. I expected accuracy and instead I got scammed. The items tonight were ordered previously so I know this is not the "usual". Frankly if it were I would not have re-ordered two times prior.

The hamburger I got was a fourth of the size shown on the menu photo! For $14.49 they should serve a big burger and not a little $5.00 burger. VERY unethical to charge THAT MUCH and give so little in return. Do better! ! I have a photo of it. Shreveport, LA

Steaks can be rare, medium, etc: not hamburger meat. Hamburger meat needs to be well done. The chef needs to learn this ASAP.

I had a barrel ages old fashioned. The bread was fresh and tasty. The menu has quite a variety...steak, chicken, seafood...something for everyone. We were going for steak. A filet was ordered and two of us ordered the 14 oz ribeye. From what I saw on other tables steak seems to be a favorite. The waitress came back and took salad orders, how we wanted the meat cooked plus another drink if needed. I ordered medium well. After a bit i order another old fashioned. The first one went smooth and good. Not too much ice, just the right amount of liquor. Chilled and good. The wedge salad comes out and it's covering the plate. Thousand island dressing plus real bacon bits. A nice touch. Just enough dressing. After a bit the ribeye arrives. It too covers a portion of then plate. it's a bit peppered but cooked right. The waitress asked us to cut into the meat to verify it was cooked right, they all were cooked as ordered. Truly a treat. The steak is gone, a little bread is left on the table, half the old fashioned is remaining. Definitely will return in the future if I'm in Shreveport. Between the service and quality of the food it's a must visit if you're in town.

The grain of the meat was up and down, I swear it was pot roast ( I can assure you it wasn't your normal filet).. Even had people at my table try it and they all agreed. My wife ordered the snapper. She could not eat it...said it had nasty stuff all over the bottom of it. The mashed potatoes were also ok at best, again no seasoning. Everything else was good. Crab cakes were delicious. The risotto that my wife had with her snapper was fabulous. All of the desserts were fantastic. The staff were great. Vibe was good in restaurant. Just very disappointed in the steak.

The parking lot is a mess. The employees are rude. But the most unbelievable part is that they somehow make it difficult to order food that is actually listed on their own menu. If I want 12 stuffed shrimp, I should be able to order 12 stuffed shrimp. Simple. Instead, I am told to buy the 3-shrimp plate four times because management refuses to sell customers the quantity they want. That is not customer service. That is nonsense. When I asked for half a dozen stuffed shrimp, I was told I would need to purchase two separate $20 meals for a total of $40. Yet the menu clearly lists a half-dozen order for $32. Why should I pay an extra $8 for food I never asked for and do not want? The entire situation is ridiculous. I am sick and tired of excuses, confusion, and incompetence. This establishment has fallen so far from the reputation built by F&H and Pete Harris that it is almost unrecognizable. I am done with this place permanently. Until they fix their customer service, their ordering process, and their overall attitude toward customers, people should spend their money elsewhere. This restaurant should be embarrassed by what it has become.

The great news is that Ben still works here and you would do quite well to request him as your server. It was his recommendation to get crusted blue cheese over my ribeye and I've enjoyed it that way ever since. Since we decided to drop in last minute we had James as our server and he did a fine job for us. $50 for a ribeye. $11 for a wedge salad (yet even more blue cheese....LOL) and a side of mashed potatoes ($12), and Brussels sprouts ($12) were more than enough to share. It was late in the evening and we were one of the last tables seated. A few of us in the party had comped dinners. My wife and I charged it to the room. Was about $93 and we left a $20 tip. The ribeye was just slightly overcooked, and the wait time was a little longer than usual, hence the missing fifth star. But you'll want to make reservations here before you arrive to ensure a seat as it's worth a visit and a very classy place.

The menu has changed in the last year (apologies for lack of photos), so I recommend checking the website's menu for the most current offerings. The potato beignets were a hit appetizer- although truly the oddest beignets I've ever seen- I would order again without hesitation. The kabocha squash hummus and Brussels sprouts were also immediate hits. My duck confit was exceptional and the banana creme pie was enough for 4 people to enjoy a few bites. The menu strikes a nice balance of varied southern/french tastes but focused for quality and thoughtfully curated. Although I noted that we were celebrating a graduation when making the reservation, it was never acknowledged. That said, the service was warm and attentive overall, with the only drawback being infrequent water refills. The volume in the dining room fluctuated and became a bit louder toward the end of our meal. Overall, this restaurant manages to feel both intimate and refined. A charming, upscale spot that's well suited for a special occasion.

The salmon was cooked perfectly with crispy skin, while the peas brought an earthy, slightly nutty flavor with a creamy texture that paired beautifully with the leeks and tomatoes.
