Ever since becoming a born again Christian, I've been growing in my relationship with God, and HopeUC has been a big part of that journey. One thing that really stands out to me is how the messages always seem to relate to what's going on in my life and my family's life. There have been so many times when I hear a message and think Wow I really needed to hear that! I also want to give a shout out to Pastor Jansen, his wife Julie and our LifeGroup. I'm thankful to be part of a group where we can grow in our faith, share what we're going through, and encourage each other in our walk with God. I'm grateful to have found a church that continues to help me grow closer to Jesus. If you're looking for a church where you can learn more about God, grow in your faith, and find a community of people who want to grow together, I definitely recommend checking out HopeUC!

We previously came from a Catholic parish that was very loving in its own way, but it was harder for our family to feel consistently connected and engaged. From the moment we visited here, something felt different. The teaching is deeply rooted in Scripture and explained in a way that connects to real life -- marriage, parenting, personal growth, and everyday challenges. The pastor doesn't just read the Bible; he helps you understand how to live it. That relatability has made the messages stay with us throughout the week. What has impacted me the most is what happened about a month after we started attending -- my daughter thanked me for bringing our family closer to God. That moment alone meant everything and confirmed that we were in the right place. The sense of community here is genuine. We didn't just feel welcomed -- we built real relationships quickly. The church is also very intentional about making sure every age group is engaged and learning at their level, which has made a huge difference for our whole family. We're incredibly grateful we were introduced to this church. It has made our faith more alive, more practical, and something we now grow in together as a family.

I know my fiance and I found this church through divine appointment!…read more Here's our story of how we found this church: They had signs up that they were having a car wash for $1. We decided to stop by, thinking we were going to give a little more to try to bless the church. When we got to the parking lot, THEY gave US a dollar and let us know that they were just out there washing cars, giving dollars, and blessing the community - no questions asked! We thought they were crazy, so naturally, we decided to check out their Sunday service to see what they were about. I gotta admit I wasn't convinced at first. Too many churches now-a-days preach what they think people want to hear. However, after about a month of attending church services, we knew this was our home church! Pastor Doug quickly became our mentor, friend, and therapist! Haha. In fact, he will be marrying us in about 2 weeks! He is very knowledgeable about so many topics and always preaches directly from The Bible. Pastor Doug is funny and so relatable, making it easier to understand difficult Biblical concepts that I've struggled with in the past. The church also has Grace Groups, which allow you to build relationships with other members that you might not have a chance to build on Sunday mornings. I've also never once felt pressured or obligated to give money, join the church as an official member, or forced to feel like I need to be a perfect Christian to be apart of their family. At the same time, God is definitely using Pastor Doug and the church members/staff to convict me to be more obedient to God, in the most loving and non-judgemental way possible. I joke with friends that I was so relieved to find out that they were "normal". They aren't on their pedestal looking down on me for barely coming back to God in the last couple of years. They hurt, feel sad, happy, angry, etc just like me! I've never felt more close to God and am INSTANTLY seeing how God is moving in my life - I'm letting go of past guilt, letting go of those feelings of not being good enough and finding my identity in Christ, learning how to let go of control/overthinking and letting Him do His thing...It's amazing! If you're looking for a home church or even if you're just curious about what wonderful plans God has for you, reach out, come visit, or join a Grace group meeting.
