Ouky Douky had the appearance of a cool grandparent's house: books and magazine everywhere, worn tables and chairs, and lots of tasty food.
The neighborhood that Ouky Douky is situated in is a bit removed from the city center, but it's near the hipster Holešovice district. I stumbled upon the cafe early on a Sunday morning and found a man, presumably the owner, tending to the coffee shop's plants. I ordered a cafe americano and the honey cake. The coffee and cake were quickly brought out to me and of high quality. Unlike other places I've ordered cafe americanos in Prague, at Ouky Douky the shot of espresso and hot water were kept separate and allowed me to add exactly as much water as I wanted. In all I paid 87 CZK ($4.50 USD) for both.
The coffeeshop was cozy, had nice music playing, and ample indoor and outdoor seating. read more
