Terrible experience - Stay Away!…read more We were planning a trip with our teenage daughter to Europe in the upcoming summer and hired Ms. Spitzer (and Travel A Latte) to help us with the travel plans. We gave a healthy budget (which was supposed to include airfare), and about 4-5 things we wanted to do on the trip. Ms. Spitzer sent us an itinerary which was several thousand dollars over budget and did not include any of the airfare. Additionally, not a single thing we asked to see or do was included. On top of that, there were no prices for anything at all, just a total cost for the entire trip (minus airfare). We reached out to address it. Ms. Spitzer asked what we wanted to cut to bring it within budget, but how would we know what to cut without prices for anything? Even when we made suggestions she responded that she uses prepared packages from a third party company, and so it seemed many changes could not be done. Seeing as she had done no work except sending us a pre-made itinerary from another company, we asked for half our deposit back, but she has refused. Honestly, feels like she just took our money, did not put in any work whatsoever, and was way in over her head with planning an actual vacation. Stay away if you value your time and money.

She took care of making all reservations and follow up calls. Nikki arranged the airport shuttle, hotel, lift tickets reservations, purchasing of lift tickets,ski rental, and delivery of equipment so I didn't have to do any of that. When we arrived, we realized we forgot a pair of ski boots at home so we called Nikki and she quickly resolved the problem for us. How awesome is that! I am not the type that likes the stress of researching and coordinating trip details, I just want the trip planned so I can show up and relax and enjoy my vacation. Nikki expertly handled all the big and little things that needed to be considered and confirmed everything in advance so that I did not need to worry about anything. I cannot thank her enough for her attention to detail. Nikki does it all with such enthusiasm, that it so fun to talk to her about the trip. Within seconds you will see all warnings to not visit Costa Rica in October because it will torrential downpour DAILY. We were so confused as to why our travel agent wouldn't tell us "hey, its probably going to rain every single day on your romantic trip" so we decided to cancel. We bought insurance so we assumed it would be no issue. Before we even had the chance to call and cancel we received an email form Pat saying OUR RESROT WAS CLOSING DOWN. So she told us she moved us to another hotel (that we couldn't even approve). When we called to simply cancel our trip (again-INSURACE), we were told we would not get our money back (the downpayment for the trip). We were told the ONLY way to get our money back is if we rebook with her company. Right. Because we are going to rebook our honeymoon with a company that was going to send to a romanic week of drowning in Costa Rica. I guess now I'm just slightly confused at what a travel agent does that a quick google search+travel sites cant do?
