But this year we finally went to a real CPA and it was LESS expensive than going to Liberty and the environment was so much more professional and the CPA was so much more knowledgable. However, the main reason we left is because Liberty made big mistakes on our return. They had us take a deduction that was not appropriate and the IRS caught it and it has been such a pain! And when I would call Liberty to help us (as assisting with audits is part of the role of a tax preparer) they would not call me back. I finally got in touch with the manager and he apologized, but this happened two more times. When I finally did get in touch with the tax preparer, she was very kind, but it was clear that she did not really know what she was doing. I would really recommend to just not go here. Super unhappy with the service. It is cheaper and more effective to get a CPA or just do Turbotax.

I later discovered that my accounts had been frozen with absolutely zero prior warning or notice, but not before their ATM accepted my deposit. This occurred at 6pm after all branches & customer support were closed. Freezing a member's funds without notice after they question account issues is an unethical and adversarial practice. Because local management has handled this situation so poorly, I will be escalating this matter formally to corporate leadership, the Board of Directors, the Better Business Bureau, and federal regulators.
