Next time I move house I will register with a GP immediately. I will learn from the horrific experience I had at the Oswald Medical Practice.
I was referred to a GP by a dermatologist at the local hospital. She advised me to pick a GP near to my house and go there until I found one that was taking on new patients. In hindsight, this wouldn't have been the Oswald Medical Practice.
The Doctor I saw was friendly enough but seemed quite incompetent and for some reason I didn't trust a word he was saying. He told me to come back the next week to pick up my prescription. I went back on the day he had told me, only to be told that the Doctor no longer worked at the surgery, they had no prescription, none of the records that had been faxed by the hospital, no record of my appointment and couldn't help me any further... thank you and goodbye. Although I could tell that the receptionist was inconvenienced by my presence, I couldn't leave it at that. After some persuasion from myself she agreed to go and check with 'the lady upstairs' to see if there was anything she could do.
'Computer says no,' was basically her answer, and as I finally gave up and decided to leave this joke of an establishment she told me not to bother coming back. I swiftly registered with Chorlton Health Centre around the corner. To this day even walking past this medical centre makes me shudder. read more
