But I have to say the highlight of our trip was a small restaurant in a very small & charming town Heiligendamm. It was a beautiful day & after tea at the famed Grand Hotel ( pricy/average service) every one was talking of a newly opened restaurant right on the beach, so we made the 2km walk in to the woods. What we found blew us away. The staff were very friendly & warm & the service met all international standards. The service was fast & attentive & they had all the trimmings from hot towels to blankets & lots of charm & because it's right on the beach, we were able to take a quick walk on the sand & returned just as they were lighting the fire torches, amazing! The menu had it all , very eclectic . Something like , fine dining meets gourmet bistro.
