My experience with Dr N Wanis during an euthanasia last year was awful. He was like a grim reaper…read morewalking around with two syringes in his hand. All I could feel was his pressure instead of giving me space with my beautiful girl in her final moments. Deaths are hard when they are unplanned; the care of the veterinarian becomes so important when walking into an unknown facility at the mercy of who you are going to get. My girl felt like her liver was exploding, and without tests, he suggested she had thrown a blood clot. He had no way of knowing; this information was given to me by my animal communicator after she transitioned. I did not even get a chance to say goodbye to my best friend before he rushed in to administer the syringes. It made a terrible experience even worse. I still have so much remorse for bringing her to this facility. I have heard that euthanasia is one of the most common occurrences for veterinarians; surely your bedside manner should be so much better than what it was. The fact that I am writing this review 15 months after her death means something.

With the cost of doggie health care, I love that they have a plan that is inclusive of many of their services. Our dog needed her teeth cleaned, and they treated her with so much love and respect. She wasn't so traumatized, which can be common with our anxious German shepherds. I also love how they are not pushy. They give you all the options, they make recommendations, but in the end, I never feel like I have to purchase everything that is recommended. Unfortunately, it's expensive and I try to balance that what's good for them and what's in my budget. But they are so good here abou that, and I think that says a lot about them. Thank you for being an awesome Vet, Louie and Zero don't seem to mind coming there, but that maybe all the snacks you give them!

I was a client of BBAH since the 1990's and I had a terrible experience with theit Receptionist…read moreCheryl. On October 25th, 2024, I came home from work to find my 18 year Old Cat with Congestive Heart Failure and Osteoarthritis had a blood clot in his leg. I frantically called BBAH to see if there was an opening or could I see a Veterinarian. Cheryl the Receptionist answered the phone and she was exasperated and irritated and whiny with me. "We're fully booked! We have no appointments! Everyone has gone home for the day!! We're not an Emergency Hospital! Go to Emerrrrge!" Cheryl was rude and didn't help me at all. But early on October 26th, 2024, their Saturday Receptionist Elisha booked me an appointment right then and there and I was seen right away. On Tuesday, October 29th, 2024, my Cat took a turn for the worse and I called BBAH in a terrified panic desperate to speak with my Veterinarian. Cheryl was snappy, difficult and refused to let me speak with my Vet. When I asked her why, she said he was "too busy with appointments to speak with you!" And, when I asked her to leave him a message for him to call me back, she refused, and instead she interrogated me. "What is this about? I need specifics!" When I told her that my cat was lethargic and vomiting, and was weak, she sounded irritated with me. "You have an appointment with Dr. Hennessey at 11:30 AM!! I'll make it a quality of Life Appointment!". My Brother heard Cheryl speak to us in a rude, impatient and disrespectful way and we were shocked at her behavior. We brought my Beloved Cat in and Dr. Hennessey said that my Cat was dying and we decided to humanely Euthanize him. Dr. Hennessey sedated my Cat and when he stepped out of the exam room to get the final injection of Euthanol, and I was alone with my Cat and my Brother, crying and petting my Cat that was when Cheryl came into the exam room with an Interac Bank Machine in her hand with a Smirk on her face, demanding that I pay her the Euthanasia Fee. We were shocked. To get rid of her, I quickly paid the $261.00 Fee. When the reciept came out of the interac machine, Cheryl took it and said to us, "Thaaaanks " and casually walked out of the Exam Room. For Cheryl, a Receptionist, to come in while my baby was dying right before my very eyes to insolently demand that I have to pay her money was so disrespectful it was outrageous. Cheryl's complete lack of sensitivity , empathy and callous disregard and disrespectful attitude for the emotional pain and suffering of me and my Brother for our dying cat was disturbing. We are left traumatized because this Receptionist made the Euthanasia Experience of my beloved Cat even worse than it already was. We left and never returned.

We love our vets here. We often see Dr. Hopwood or Dr. Johnson. They are both really great vets…read morethat have excellent bedside manner and take their time caring for my pup. The office is extraordinarily clean and prices are very reasonable. They never pressure me into any vaccines for my dog, but rather provide me with the information to make the decision for my dog by myself. My only complaint about this clinic is the receptionist/vet tech staff. Many have been unfriendly and have made me feel like I am a hassle to them. Overall, I would highly recommend Billings Bridge Animal Hospital to others. They have excellent vets and reasonable prices--there is not much more I could ask for.

The team is amazing, from the reception employees, the techs and the veterinarians... All truly amazing and caring for our furry baby! We have an Australian Shepherd and some medication is known to be an issue for the breed, they were on it before we even asked. They answered all our (many) questions, are always patient with us, and are not gauging on medication, shoots, food, etc. We feed our dog raw food and the vet explained the pros and cons of raw food, provided us with tips on ensuring our dog has a healthy and balanced diet, etc. We have sinced moved from downtown and the extra drive is worth it! Their hours and availability are incredible... Don't get me wrong, they are busy and this whole COVID distanciation is not helping, but we have had a few emergencies where they were able to see us withing fantastic timelines (within minutes in some cases), squeezing us between two patients or first thing in the morning if a vet was available. They have always been extremely gentle with our dog... A true testament to the love and care the whole team as Centretown Vet. Hospital is how excited our Aussie is when we go! She truly reacts as if this were her Disneyland and the staff her best friends! Would recommend in a heartbeat

When the dust settled, I wanted to return to Algonquin Animal Hospital since it's more convenient, but they refused to see my cat unless I paid $175 for another examination, even though I had all the records from the other clinic. They said that because they hadn't seen my cat in over a year, I had to start out with an examination. I said that the only reason they hadn't seen her for that long was that I had to take her elsewhere because there were no timely slots available. I emailed them my concerns and they completely ghosted me. DO NOT take your pet here... they're just in it for the money.

He's too old for the $4000 surgery and he's losing his teeth and they tend to get infected due to all the bacteria. So I called in the morning and begged them for a refill for we are going to the cottage tomorrow for a week and I didn't want him to suffer all week. Since I didn't hear back, I called them again at 4pm to follow up. And they said it's just too busy for a vet to authorize me to come and pick up another bottle of antibiotic meds which I am paying for. Oh they did mention my options are to go to another vet (no time, and as if I could afford another consultant fee) Very disappointed in this service. Aren't vets suppose to care. I bet the techs didnt even bring it to their attention cause I can't see a vet not having 2 mins to authorize this. Unacceptable.
