There are two large pools -…read morethe largest is kept at around 28c/82f and the smaller large pool (which is still quite big) is kept just below bathwater warmth - it's REALLY warm and you don't have to get used to the water temperature at all. There is a schedule for open swim time for the public on their website. It's around 5€ to use the pool. There are separate locker/changing rooms for men and women. Each locker room has hair dryers (1€) and lockers where you get a key in exchange for a 1€ coin that you get back, so remember your coin if you want to secure anything. The locker rooms have changing tables and wooden playpen sort of things to put your baby while you change. There are swim classes at various times during the day so it's important to understand the schedule if you want to use the pool. I've enrolled in two classes. One instructor spoke only german which is understandable. Another instructor spoke german, spanish and english. The pool facility has a website but no way to do online registration so if you plan to take a class, plan to register in person, and to get there before opening time. The queues run out the door and he wait for registration is longer than an hour. During registration, their card machine wasn't working so they were only accepting cash. All in all, it's a nice big clean pool facility but they could benefit their customers by creating online registration. After all, it's 2018. The front desk staff could also use a lesson in smiling and not being so crabby.

I had a very disturbing experience at Stadtbad Neukölln tonight (January 7th). After going for a…read moreswim this evening (around 9pm) a man walked up to myself and a few others asking for sexual favors. This was in the Stadtbad Neukölln men's locker room. This man would not leave me alone until I told him I would call the police. Eventually I had to leave the locker room and dry off in the lobby area. He was that disturbing. Stadtbad Neukölln has very beautiful architecture and history but extremely disturbing visitors. I would not recommend this pool/spa for anyone. There are many other safe and cleaner spa's in Berlin. I will never go back to Stadtbad Neukölln. I highly suggest that the management at Stadtbad Neukölln please keep an eye out for people like this man.

A true hidden gem in the middle of Neukoelln, this architecturally rich park has a beautiful…read morefountain (though unfortunately dry to lack of funding), and a wonderful space to get coffee in cake in front of the 1890's Orangerie, which now serves as an art gallery (free admission). Being sunken below street level cuts down on noise and creates of tranquil space. The neighborhood organizes concerts and other events there: check the web site. I really recommend swinging by if you're in the neighborhood, just for the fun of seeing this urban oasis appear in the midst of one of the less polished areas of Berlin.

I love love love Körnerpark. This is my neighborhood park, a…read morethree-block walk from where I live, and the perfect place to hang out when I want to get away, if only (and especially) for a short while. The park itself takes up an entire block, and is landscaped beautifully: fountains, trees, benches, and green green grass. Along one end of the park there is also the gravel area outside the Cafe and Gallery, which has tables with umbrellas, and plenty of seating for cafe patrons. While the cafe is a nice place to meet friends, I personally enjoy grabbing a beer or two and some snacks and spending time outside on the grass with friends. Beware of the area where sitting is forbidden of course, most of the time it's not enforced, so sit away. But during rare instances you will be approached and reprimanded, and then promptly kicked off. But don't let it discourage you there are plenty of other places in the park to sit. And regardless, time at Körnerpark is always time well spent.

If you find yourself waking up every day going through the same motions, packing the same PB&J for work for the 4th time that week, you my friend, have gotten boring. Comfortable. Comfortable will be the last emotion you'll feel when you're signing a waiver that reads "possible equipment malfunction which can result to fatal injuries or even death". Try uneasy, nervous, FREAKING OUT. Also, try concentrating when the handsome Friedrich straps you tightly in your harness while explaining what's about to happen in the next few minutes. The staff here are excellent at making you feel safe, even when your stomach is in knots. Then it gets real very quickly when you walk the steel plank, feel the wind in your face while you're standing on the edge of the platform. Suddenly, all those people walking around Alexanderplatz look like tiny ants. Your heart beats faster and as you summon every last bit of courage in your being, you're hoisted up by a steel cable on your back and left dangling in a superman pose long enough to realize, you could REALLY die this way, but the least you could hope for is not to sh*t your pants. Then you fall, and fall and fall through the air ... after what feels like eternity (8 seconds!!!) your feet touches the ground and you let out an excited "wohooo!!! I'm ALIVE!!" with your hands waving wildly in the air and these German boys give you a look that says "wow, Asian girls get waaay too excited." Back home, you look at your instagram photo with a satisfied smile on your face. As you bite into your PB&J sandwich for the 4th time that week, you stop and notice it tastes different. This place is THE COOLEST and now I want every city with a body of water to create a similar venue…read more (Local friends in Reno, I'm dreaming of a badeschiff in the Truckee River, maybe just outside of the entrance to USA Parkway near the Tahoe Reno Industrial Center so it can attract all the Tesla employees after work. And since it's Storey County, maybe it can be topless like the Badeschiff Berlin!) My husband and I arrived early on a weekday morning, but the Badeschiff was already packed. There were still folding chairs in a stack that could be set up, but all the chairs that were already set up were claimed. That was no problem for us, though, because we only planned to stay for a few minutes. My husband, as a ginger, is a bit of a vampire, and he had no desire to go in the water or to be in the sun. Nevertheless, he was able to find a bench under a shady spot, so he didn't even have to get his shoes sandy as he waited as I enjoyed swimming and taking in the most ridiculous, delightful atmosphere. A beach in downtown Berlin! Swimming in a beautiful pool located in the Spree! We drove here and parked for free along Eichenstraße and walked in. I changed into my suit in the car, so I cannot comment on the changing rooms available there. We paid our entrance fees (11 euros for the two of us) and scoped out the territory. Ladies can sunbathe topless, but tops and bottoms are required in the pool. I'm pretty sure that German swimming etiquette involves taking a brief rinse in the outdoor shower immediately before the pool entrance both before and after enjoying the pool. My non-German speaking and reading husband thought that a sign that actually read "no bicycles" said "no photographing," so he was loathe to take all the photos that I wanted him to take of our/my experience there. (Maybe the topless ladies also in the frame of the camera threw him off? He says that he did not want to seem pervy.) But rest assured, folks who are #doingitfortheinsta that you can, indeed, get that snap that you want. 10/10 I would make my sun, sand, and alcohol-adverse husband come here again because this place is SO COOL.

There are changing room, lockers, bathroom, nice sun deck with lounge chairs. They rent you standup paddle board also to paddle at the river. Must visit once! We love it there! We swim and watch others doing stand up paddle board. Super cool! We swim laps, take pictures, and sit on the side at Cody lounge chair, enjoy music there and watch the world goes by! Ah....h. Come and enjoy this unique Berlin experience.

Overall the facility had all the necessities, although it is a little dated. The location is good and about a 3 min walk from the Alexanderplatz S-Bahn Station. Prices were ok (4 people for 2 hours and we paid ~48€ including shoe rental) and surely cheaper than the other options in the area (such as the bowling in the Alexa mall). Two stars off because of the lack of variety in bowling balls (although the place was packed, there were no light balls for me to use, and being a pretty small girl, my hand felt pretty beat up the next day from the 12-pounder I had to use) and the fact that the kitchen closes as 9pm (even during astro bowling night, where tons of people are there, even at midnight). Overall though, it is an acceptable, easy-to-access bowling place!

I had my first Underground Lasergames experience on the weekend and WOW! I've played Lasergames…read morebefore (in Australia), but this is a completely different league. For starters, the bunker location is very cool and gets the adrenaline going on arrival. The equipment is great, not too much gear and the hand held guns are easy to operate. There is also a variety of games you can play. We did a round of every man/woman for themselves, which was a great start and good to get to know the location. We then went on to complete a group mission. This involved cracking codes, climing into dark sand filled rooms, a team against team round and more! My personal highlight was abseiling down into the dark second level of the bunker with only a gasmask and a camera on my helmet, hoping my team would tell me the right way to go (which they did very well!). Definately got a rush! I'll definately be going back. And for all you women out there, it's not just a guys thing. As a women, I had a ball and those with me did too. So don't be shy! p.s. I recommend to all take comfortable clothing so you can move well, nothing too warm because you sweat alot and nothing white because you'll light up in the blacklight and get dirty anyway. Enjoy!!!
