I was hopeful there would be a 0 star option, but alas, there seems none.
TOURISTS BEWARE, this place is the ultimate tourist trap.
If you speak English and ask for a menu they won't give you one, instead they will tell you the menu must be "explained". Why? Probably so you don't see the obscene service charge, per person, that they do not tell you about in advance.
The next trick will be the bowl of vegetables that the server will bring to your table, happily and unsolicited, along with some cups, as if merely gratuitous like the bread one might be ordinarily accustomed to. Don't be fooled, this bowl of veggies will ring you 6 or so euro.
If you want a drink make sure you ask the price or you'll find yourself in the midst of a can of pop that costs as much as a double-whisky in any ordinary establishment.
If I've failed to convince you to explore the better options, just a short distance away, in the town proper of Torri Del Benaco, then do consider getting the Gnocchi in Gorgonzola -- it is actually quite nice.
Once the meal has been brought to your table, don't expect the server to come by again. If you want some parmigiano, hot oil or even tap water, you'll need to navigate the restaurant on your own. Oh, and be warned, though most restaurants here in Torri Del Benaco will bring you a bottle of flat or sparkling water on request (and charge for it, which is normal), Osteria will bring what appears to be tap water and charge you more for it than their friends down the street that bring a sealed glass bottle.
When you go to pay, do review your bill. My 8 euro gnocchi and (not sure how many euro) soda, I was told, was going to cost me a whopping 25 euro, when the water, veggies, service charge (for me and one friend that did not eat) was all tallied. Upon review, I questioned some of the charges and was told they made an error -- it would be 35 euro! I am a tourist but not a moron, please review again -- okay, on this account only 16 euro.
