I am grateful for Ms. Bell's service and recommend her without reservation.

But, I had a simple, straight forward, uncontested divorce and the hardest part of the entire process was getting ahold of Brian! Getting my ex on the phone, who I hate and the feeling is mutual, was SO MUCH EASIER than getting simple answers from Brian. I paid him, and as soon as I paid him, getting answers was awful, I'm talking a MONTH of waiting to hear from him for EACH QUESTION. I'd ask him, "Hey, are the papers ready to sign?" and nothing for a month, he finally responded and said they would be ready in a week. Well, here we are, two weeks later and I can't get a response, let alone get the papers. I regret hiring him. $1,500 for an uncontested divorce and month wait for any question answered? Shitty service, absolutely awful.

We had an initial consultation with him and provided him with the information he requested within a week of the consultation. He promised drafts of the 6 documents at the start of the week we were supposed to sign them. He missed his own deadline, asking further questions instead of providing drafts. He had 5 weeks prior to this deadline to ask questions and did not. We received the drafts of only the medical directives and power of attorneys a day after his deadline, and they had errors. We provided feedback and they were corrected. We received our wills the day before our signing appointment. They also had errors. We decided to only sign the medical directives during our appointment since the other 4 documents still were not complete and there was no time to correct them. At the appointment, we told Jason Shoemaker our intentions to sign the 2 documents and take the other 4 to another attorney based on our negative experience with him. He called my spouse and me "condescending and difficult", left the conference room, and went to his office, slamming the door. We didn't get to sign any documents and I was left to explain to the notary, who was on her way to the conference room, that we no longer needed her. Overall, our experience with Jason Shoemaker was negative. He missed his own deadline without requesting an extension, was combative when we asked simple legal questions, and insulted us and threw a fit during our meeting. His actions show him to be unprofessional.

This is written by Sheila Henderson for my son, Rodney Henderson…read more Sanzone the great so called lawyer, is a fake!! He took $1,500.00 from my son a few years back and said he could help my son get his restricted license to be able to drive back and forth to work. Sanzone did absolutely nothing and I mean nothing to help my son. The first time my son showed up for his court date; Sanzone wasn't even there to represent my son in court that day in January of 2021, Sanzone sent his secretary there to court to meet with my son. Sanzone was out of town, miles away and did a call in to court by phone. Sanzone never told my son that he wasn't going to be with him in Court that day. One hour before the time for my son to appear in court, Samzone secretary called my son and told him she would meet him at the court house and Sanzone would not be there! ( I have never heard of this before). Sanzone didn't even know my son case, my son had to stand in front of the judge and explain his case. Sanzone hung on the phone during the court session listening while my son spoke to the judge alone without Sanzone by his side, but the Sanzone secretary was beside my son. I guess my son should have paid Sanzone secretary the $1,500.00. What kind of lawyer is this, but a crook. My son came out of court without his restricted license. My son was schedule to go to back to court in November of 2021 and for the last several weeks he had left message at Sanzone office for Sanzone to call him. Sanzone NEVER called my son!!!! Well, on July 23, 2021, my son commit suicide. I called Sanzone office a few days ago and left word on Sanzone secretary voicemail that my son commit suicide and as of to date (August 02, 2021) Sanzone hasn't called my phone number I leave on the voice mail to offer his condolences, to Rodney Henderson's family or to offer to send some of the $1,500.00 of the money back he stole from my son. After all Samzone will not now be going to court in November 2021 since my son is now dead. My son is dead now and I hope Sanzone takes that $1,500.00 and puts it where the sun doesn't shine. Sanzone is one sorry lawyer. Please people don't let this lawyer represent you for anything, if you do, you will be sorry.. You would be off to flush your money down a toilet. I had to select a star to post this review so I selected one star, but Samzone is not worth the one star; he is a 0 star!!!

How Mr. Sanzone turned my12 month DUI suspension into 22 months…read more I hired him to defend me from a typical DUI. He impressed me that he actually took interest in the case and he felt that there was some chance to beat it. I said OK, just as long as I'm driving in 12 months win or loose, I just don't like a DUI on my record due to the raised insurance costs. Many months later as the case was looking pretty hopeless, he told me that even if we win this, I'll probably still get the DUI based on the arresting officer's testimony. They just wont be able to use the blood alcohol content against me. Oh thank's for telling me that now. I never would have challenged the DUI had I known that. Eight months into my suspension, as we appealed the case over and over (I do give him credit for persistence) I asked Mr. Sanzone if I should be enrolling for the VASAP class so that I could have it completed by the end of my 12 months to get my license back. He said no, that I only need to be "enrolled" at the end of 12 months and that I could get my license back then. This is not what I had heard, so I called VASAP. They said no, you have to have completed the course. I told Mr. Sanzone this and he said quote "you talk to seven different people in this business and you'll get seven different answers. Just be enrolled and we'll get your license back". So as 12 months neared, realizing the case was not going to be over soon, I called and enrolled. However they could not get me in a class for nearly 6 months. Mr. Sanzone told me to go to the DMV and try for a license. Of course they could not give me one until I completed VASAP. By the time I was driving again, it had been 22 months and I had no restricted license either. I was the only one in the class not driving myself to VASAP - or anywhere for over 22 months - and I was the only one who'd paid for a lawyer. As an added note: at one point I told his secretary that I was going to be out of the state for a week. When I arrived home at 10PM, I just happened to check my mail to find a paper letter from Sanzone's office stating that I needed to be in Charlottesville jail at 9AM the next morning for my required jail time. I live 1-1/2 hours away and can't drive! Thanks for not calling or emailing me. I wrote this partly to advise: if you have a DUI in VA, think twice about trying to beat it. Getting a better restricted license may be the best a lawyer can do for you. I wish I'd gone with the Public Defendant. I have no hard feelings about VA law, VA courts, Charlottesville PD, VASAP people, or the DMV; all were fair and knowledgeable - Mr. Sanzone was neither. I am giving two stars because he did put effort into the case.
